@mcbrew I had an oil consumption issue towards the beginning of my ownership, I got an ecu update to fix the issue, which it did. but it obviously was too little too late.
@DeathMachine I tossed the packaging, I will ask my parts guy and get back to you.

I believe these are a step cooler, they are actually intended for the 2.4 liter Corolla XRS. They are Bosch Platinum+4's $7.00 a pop. Most likely I will be changing them again when I get the turbo installed, I saw a set that is from Pulstar, that sparked my interest... part number on the Pulstars are BE1. I read great reviews on the pulstars but went with the Bosch because I have used them in the past and not had any issues. Maybe you could try the Pulstars and see if there is a difference, I am now a tainted specimen...
See I've always preferred NGK, but mostly because my last vehicle was a 2004 Saturn Ion Redline, and just one step cooler on those with the stock engine brought it up 5hp. Killed mileage though...
Just don't ever let anyone tell you to use an E3 plug, cause I wouldn't put one of those in my lawnmower...
But I'll do some research on those Pulstars and see how it fairs....

Big props for this build up!!
Couple of questions/comments regarding the spark plugs...
As you might have noticed Toyota make us the big favor of using a quite rare spark plug on this engine. It's a thinner and long reach style.
I've only found a handful of cars that share the same plug dimension, some Mercedes, the Acura MDX.
The OE plug is top notch stuff , Denso Iridium heat range 20, but I haven't been able to found ANY colder plug that would fit our engine.
Either of the NGK's and Denso high perf plugs are available on this size...
If you are using Bosch plugs you are probably using the Mercedes ones I just mentioned but on my research I found those to be range 20 (when p compared to the Denso's heat range scale) So I believe you are on the same heat range as stock. Personally I believe the Denso Iridiums are the best plugs. If you confirm they both are the same heat range the Densos are superior.
I', not THAT concerned as a Denso 20 is a relatively cold plug... same plug is standard on the 2.3 Turbo MDX so I would say we are alright going turbo with the OE plugs. But I sure would be more comfortable if I could find a 22 Denso or a 7 NGK that would fit our engine. Hopefully some would hit the market soon.
I looked into the Pulstars but they don't have any plug for us. They are pretty standard and offer only the most common thicker/shorter plugs.
Also, I don't like that multi/ranges they offer... That could be OK for N/A cars but for FI you should go for what is proven. That is DENSO/NGK
I'm very interested on the sparkplugs subject, please let me know if you found anything different from what I have found so far...

To be honest I didnt cross reference to other makes, so I am not 100% sure on which ones you are talking about. The Bosch ones I am using now are made to fit the corolla XRS, I have not had any issues yet, but I also have not done any hard pulls in the car. When I go turbo, I am planning on swapping the plugs again anyway, most likely will be using Denso's in a colder step (if I can find ones that fit). So unfortunately I can not shed any more light on the subject than what you already know (which is apparently more than me anyway...LOL)
OK now you intrigue me...
The OE plug for the 2ZR-FE is a Denso SC20HR11. This particular plug has a 12mm thread diameter while most common plugs have 14mm thread diameters.
The OE plug for a 2AZFE (2.4L camry/TC/Rav4/Corolla XRS) is a K20R-U11 and this is a regular 14mm thread diam plug.

Ok Castrex, you got me all confused so I went and looked it up again... apparently I had the wrong stock number the first time out... I looked up the XRS plug (oops, sorry to get everyones hopes up). I wasnt the one who ordered the plugs, my parts department did.
Bosch 4418 Platinum +4 Spark Plug is what we are looking at.

Maaaaaannnnn! I was wondering what the deal was with that stock number you posted!! I couldn't get it to cross for anything!! I even called Bosch and they were like "WTF, do you just make up numbers and call us?"

LOL, sorry man.
So a quick update for you guys, in particular to the plugs...
Break in period is complete, went for a couple of pulls last night to see how it fares... and top end I kept getting a weird studder... It kept happening around 6500rpms...
With all this talk about the spark plugs, I decided to pull one out and check it... black... and covered in soot....

I will add though that wheel hop is redonculous right now... I'm still waiting on Garm at MicroImage to send me my new TRD Dogbone tranny mount, hopefully will take care of the situation...

I swapped the stock ones back in and my studder went away... Sooooo looks like I will be keeping the stocks in for a while till I come up with something else worth trying... Once the studder was taken care of I did a couple more pulls... feels great now

Thanks for posting the internal engine pictures, they're the first I could find anywhere! I'm planning on a turbo 2ZR-FE (with a home-built manifold and Link G4 Xtreme ems).
I read that you put a new block in your car, do you still have access to the old one? If so, it would be super appreciated (by many other aspiring 2ZR turbo people too i would think) if you could pull the main/rod caps off and post pictures of the pistons and connecting rods.
A picture reveals quite a bit, see the Mitsubishi Evo X 4B11T engine internals:

You said you had an oil consumption issue, when was the car delivered to the lot? Mine got there end of march/08 1st couple days of april/08. Purchased right after that, I think I might have a teeny bit of an issue, just figured it was normal... Next time I change the oil I'll pay a little closer attention. Can I go and request an ECU update?

Mine was delivered June 2007, I picked it up first week of July 2007. Yours may be normal, when I say I had an oil consumption issue, I was running out of oil between oil changes... I was burning 4 Qts of oil in about 3,000 miles...
It is extremely case by case on this issue, to be honest I have not had one person ever mention to me that their xD was experiencing the same issue that mine did. But if you feel you have an issue, ask your local dealer about it, if they are anything like my dealer they will do some research and figure out a way to help you.
If you look at the picture I posted of the top of my pistons, the grim that's on them is crystallized oil from this issue...
