Default XD Stopped Running

I replaced the battery in the 08 XD with one from the dealer last night. Tested it out and started right up ran fine. This morning drove to work no problems. Came out of work started up drove toward home and at one of the intersections waiting on the light it just shut off. No electrical what so ever, dead in the water towed to the dealer. Any ideas ??

Hopefully it's something simple as a bad connection. Owners manual says to contact the dealer before removing the battery? Hmm....

what did you do? Did you replace your alternator? If so, how difficult and how long did it take? Did you need any specialty tools?

I replaced the alternator. Took me about five hours with breaks and double checking myself and two runs to autozone. If I were an experienced tech it would be a one hour job. I had to buy a 14mm deep well socket for the bolt underneath. Other wise I had all the tools and no special items. Autozone alternator $179.00 with tax and core charge. I ll be glad to help any one in the Kansas City area. Its really a breeze.

You need your basic metric sockets and wrenches, a small scissor jack and a piece of 2x6 wood, and probably a diagram.
