Default 2012 no arm rest

Bought a used 2012 xd and didn't realize until it was to late that theirs no arm rest. Never had to put one in anything so I'm at a loss.
Is there an adapter that goes over the lower (non armrest) middle console?
Do I have to replace the whole middle console up to the gear shift?
What about those arm rests you just stick in the existing cup holder? I'm guessing it'd be a temp fix, those things can't be sturdy or long lasting.

Looks like you have 3 Options:

1. Order a New Arm Rest. Part No. PT925-52090 from your Dealer. List Price: $100

2. Shop online: Scion xD 2008 - 2014 Center Console Armrest - OEM NEW! | eBay

3. Get a Boomerang Arm Rest:

Seller say "Securely fastens to existing center console with no drilling or cutting required". Read the Reviews regarding being sturdy or not.
