Default Dash kits XD

I am thinking of installing a 22 piece dark grey carbon fiber dash kit with my Super White XD and had some questions.

1) has anyone used an aftermarket dash kit and replaced the OEM dark grey plastic?

2) how difficult is it to pull of the plastics and replace them?

3) What is the time frame for the job?

I'll send in some pics once I've figured it out

unless youre planning on obtaining real carbon fiber for the project, it might be easier ( and cheaper ) to find a company that sells lay overs. honestly ive never taken off the stereo surround but the are around the shift/cup holders is really easy to take out (especially if you take off the shift surround first and then reach under and pop out the cup holder area). door panels are EASY to take off..just take out the screw, pop it out, and disconnect the harness from the back. ive heard all you do for the stereo surround is just pull it off from the top but...im scared of breaking it haha

I believe there is a company that does it called PatternTek. I know some tC owners have used that company to place different patterns or looks on their plastic pieces. Do a search for PatternTek and hopefully something will come up.

He's probably talking about that. I've looked at it for myself and was thinking about doing carbon fiber black and blue pattern for my NB xD.

I was kind of hoping someone else had experience with that company before I bought tho.

Seems like a good deal and an easy mod that hopefully is professional looking. I don't trust my paint skills and I've seen too many bad ones.

^^ So that site if you bought the kit, you'd have to put it on the pieces yourself..?

PatternTek, to my knowledge, puts their patterns on your pieces themselves so that means you have to ship them your pieces.

TRDxD: Not sure about other companies who do this. Pretty sure that there have to be some companies that other car models (non Scion) use.

you could always pop out your plastic pieces (give a good tug) and then sand, primer, paint, clear.

Can you take a few more pics please? From a wider angle with better light? sorry If im being picky. It looks good from what i can tell.

I'm still debating this.

Does it look tacky? does it seem durable? do the pieces seem thick?

Interesting... I've never been too keen on CF, but that's just personal taste. It looks like it's very high quality, though!

It looks good but I'd much rather have the entire piece with the pattern instead of the top surface.
