DOn't you guys think our seat is a little bit too high? It's not adjustable for it's height...
Anyone feel the same?

Yea I was disappointed to see that the xB had seat adjusment for the bottom part and the xD doesn't. It would be nice to get that same feature on the driver's seat, but no idea if its able to be done and not sacrifice space.

Maybe there are other seats out there that can do this that look better?

I actually REALLY like the ride height. It is one of the reasons I bought the car. When driving it feels like we a re in a much larger vehicle. It makes it easy to see around and above other cars. I find this to be a bonus! In my mind, the XD is not a sports car and thus low seats would take away from the experience. I test drive a Matrix and it is similiar to the XD but had a lower seating position. I hated it...

im really tall, (6'5") and have a hard time driving the Mrs' xD. Thats one of the first things i reached for (seat height adjustment) when i got in there.

If you wanted to get custom, you could always chop the seat brackets and re-weld them.

Well I was thinking of just changing the seats but keeping the height ya know. I too like the ride height, but it might be more fun with sportier seats. No idea, never looked in to getting different seats for any car before.

I can not stand the seats!! I have tries to contact more-japan.com for nagisa auto's lowering brackets , but they replied that nagisa does not make any that will fit the xd. I would love to lower, or change the seats, but I don't even know if they the oem bracketting is the standard sizing. I came out of a wrx and supra before that, great seats. XD poopy convex seats. Any help would be great!

I just check the TOYOTA Ist in japan, can have a adjustible seat, like the new XB. So I'm really wondering could they do a swap?
As far as I know, if we change the seat, it might causing the Airbag not working right. Like for example, if you adjust the passenger seat too close to the airbag, the "AirBag OFF" light become on. but if you move it back to a normal position, the Airbag On light will set on. (With passenger sitting on it) So, which mean there's a sensor on the bracket or the seat itself.
Any specialist? any suggestion?

aw don't hate on the seats...i think they are lovely.

mylittleist is right though, changing the ride height could cause the airbags to not work correctly. I believe the sensor is in the seat...i put a really heavy bag on my passenger seat and it made my seatbelt warning beep until i moved it.

sorry that was kinda off topic...but the sensors must work somewhat similarly?

the airbag sensors are in the base of the seat. if you do a seat swap from the ist, you may have problems with the airbag sensors, since the ist is right hand drive.

you *may* be able to remove the sensor from the usdm seat and put it in the jdm seat. Thats a risk i'd rather not take.

I think I am going to look into lowering the seat when I get mine. Whether I chop and weld, or something else..who knows. I'll figure it out.
