I do wear my seatbelt though, so getting a buckle will not solve my problem. I would like them to adjust the buzzer so it is not a NAG. Give me atleast a minute or so to put it on.

Anyone have a wiring diagram of the seatbelt sensor mechanism? Maybe it could be bypassed with a jumper?

The seatbelt warning beeps don't bother me EXCEPT when I have something in the passenger seat. They should have put a button on the dash where you could disable it for this reason. If they made it reset everytime the car was shut off, then every time the car was started, the alarm would sound, to remind you. BUT then you have the option to shut it off. So you would have been warned each time.

I want to know if there is a way to have the doors automatically lock, after you have driven a certain distance or for a certain amount of time. All my other vehicle automatically lock after I have reached 10 miles per hour. BUT this feature can be disabled on all my other vehicles also. So you don't have to have the door auto lock if you don't want to.

The automatic door locks on the xD is actually false, from what we've learned Only the xB-2 can do this. It really sucks too because Scion actually posted a video about doing this, but then took it off. Bad Scion.

Which from my personal experience is a Total lie from Scion! If you find the thread that I started some time ago when my car locked me out by itself, we know that it CAN do it. Do not know why it was not done by default though, who knows....

^^
agreed. my car didn't lock me out, but i hit the unlock button, talked to a friend for a few...then was surprised when i saw my headlights flashing again like i had hit the lock button. that was impossible, since the remote wasn't in my hand anymore.
i think my car had locked itself because no one had opened the door within a certain amount of time?

It funny you guys say this. I've onlly had mine for 3 weeks but twice I found the doors locked when I know I had left them unlocked.

guess I'll get one of the wallet keys from AAA just in case it locks by itself and my keys are still inside.

Uh if you unlock the car but do NOT open any of the doors it will lock itself again. Even if you're inside with the key in the ignition turned so you can listen to the radio, unlock the doors but don't open them, it will lock itself again. I've been embarassed many times by this because my alarm goes off when I get out of my car for class.

It's like that with all the Scions. Unlock but don't open a door, it will lock itself again.

How about, leave key in ignition with engine running, open door, get out, go into convenience store, come back to car, find out some idiot car manufacturer tells my locks to lock me out.....

Scion told me that it was wrong, but will see when I visit the dealer....

There is a process to turn off the seatbelt beep... I've done it on my 08 tc... I've heard it works on all toyotas. I can't remember what all you had to do but it had something to do with the trip button, and putting the seatbelts on and off... a bunch of junk. search aroun on SL and you'll find it. I'm looking for it because I unplugged the ecu and reset the setting... now I need to know how to do it again....

found it...
This will work for all Scion / Toyota.

It can be turned off.
1.) Power on (ignition on will do)
2.) Set trip/ODO to ODO (if its already on ODO you will have to cycle through)
3.) Power off
4.) Power on w/brake on
5.) (Within 6 seconds), press and hold the ODO for 10 seconds or more
6.) While STILL holding the ODO *after 10 seconds*, buckle BOTH seatbelts. Now release the ODO
7.) You will see in the trip display either a "b on" or "b off"
8.) Press the ODO to toggle between "b on" or b off" YOU WANT "b off"
9.) Now power off.

I tried this but did not work. I tried with with the ignition on AND starting the car.

Are you supposed to keep your foot on the brake the entire time? Or do you mean the parking brake? I tried both ways.

I never see b on or b off, once I let go of the button on the ODO, it just goes to the trip odo.

let me back up a little bit, I never got the b off or b on in the little screen, but it did do something.

What happens now is if I do NOT put on my seatbelt (drivers side), it will beep 5 times when the car is first started, but will stop. The little red light will continue to flash.

Also, I put something heavy in the passenger seat. the little red light for the passenger starts to flash and the beep will continue for about 20 seconds, starts off slow, about 5 beeps, then speeds up really fast, about 40 more beeps, total time is about 20 seconds but then stops. the light continues to flash.

I've done a seach and there are several varriations of this procedure for toyota trucks, Prius, corolla, etc. They all seem just a tiny bit different, some don't use the brake, some do, some say shift from park to drive then back again, etc. Like I said, all a bit different and all of them don't always work for the cars they say they will.

So for the 2008 XD, I think it's about as good as I gonna get, I don't care about the drivers beep because I just wear my seatbelt but for the passenger, even if i put my laptop on the seat, it will beep. but now only for about 20 seconds.

I have not tried it yet but what started happening the other day was that it beeped for about 30 seconds and then stopped but the light continued to flash. I will try it and see if anything else changes.
