Default Moving Ipod Connection to Glove Box

I love using my ipod. And since I have a classic it receives power from the connection. But I would like to leave my ipod in the car, but to do this I want it where it cant been seen. Any thoughts on how to move it?

Killed the battery or the whole thing? My Battery is already dead so no worries.

I have kept my 4 year old iPod(video)in my car for 3 years and it still holds a decent charge.

I know it can be done on the xD, but as I recall the wiring harness for the ipod socket in the center console is pretty short, I recall someone saying it was just long enough to reach the inboard side of the upper glove box. I've never had much intrest in moving it( since my sub controls are in the same spot in the upper glove box) but the center console's pretty easy to pull apart, take a look in there and see what kinda slack you have in the wireing harness.

GL with the move if you try it. I'd say just keep in mind that iPods among many other products are designed with what is called "Planned Obsolescents". Certain parts on them are intentionally designed to fail after X amount of time. The Lithium batteries & the HD's are the most common parts to fail.

Not to pee in anyone's cheerios... it's just a fact. lol. I'm an iPod owner as well so at some point I'll be in that boat too. They're still one of the best ways to tote a lot of tunes around easy and compatible with virtually any source now days, so I still think it's worth the price of the ticket to play.

I did this on mine its one of the best 20 minute mods i have ever done! got my cup holder back and dont have to worry about moving my ipod when ever im not with my car for a while. its realy easy and i have had mine in my bottom glove box for 5 or 6 months now and no problems and its about 110 here right now in a solid black car lol. u just have to pull ur whole center section out including the radio and pull that ipod jack out from the back there and just pull it back through the dash and will fall right into your bottom glove box. then to make it look pretty you can steal one of the insert pieces from under your e-brake or go and get one from the dealer for cheap theres another step by step with pictures on the forums here somewhere ill see if i can find it for ya!
