Sub on trunk
I was thinking about trying to free up some space in the trunk area by removing the L7 I have for two smaller 10" subs. I was wondering if anyone tried to do a custom mount on the trunk door itself. I can't recall seeing anyone do it and I don't see any problems with doing that. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
how exactly would you mount to the trunk door? just on the plastic covering, or to the actual metal portion of the door itself? I haven't taken off the plastic cover for sound deadening materials yet, but i'm sure if you're cool with it you could drill holes and make mounts, hooks, or just bolt it to the metal.
Anything is possible with the proper application of sawzalls and fiberglass. Keep in mind you'll be increasing the weight your trunk struts are attempting to hold up, so those will have to be replaced with heavier duty units. Dooo eeeet!

I was thinking about taking the black plastic piece off completely and then doing a custom box to fit on the trunk. I found a few shallow mount subs that I think would work pretty well. Thanks for the input about the struts. That and the glass are my two worries.
