I don't have the Premium unit, I went ahead and went aftermarket, but this might be what you're looking for.

To activate sub woofer control:

1. With car on and radio off press the MENU button until it lights up.
2. Use the **** to select sub woofer control
3. Press the **** to activate subwoofer control to ON

from one of the Scion xB websites.

Other than that, I'm not sure, haven't had the chance to play with a Premium unit.

Yes, there is a sub control on the premium stereo. As stated above, you can access it thru the menu button, select audio and scroll thru until sub control comes up, you can toggle it on and off and adjust the gain + or -.

MTX had a amp volume controler for subs that plugged into their amps. You might check them out to see if that is what you are after.

just be careful if you use a controller off of the amp. varying "bass boost" and "gain" ***** can thermally damage the amp or woofer if you play around with them too much and make the amp clip or shoot a bad signal.

There is a way to use the head unit according to above poster to control the sub levels being fed to the amp from the head unit. thats definitly the best way. especially if the head unit also has high pass filters for the rest of the speakers like my pioneer unit does. makes the system sound infinitely better when the door speakers arent struggling to get out the lows.
