Default XD Navigation System - Sirius

I am experiencing "satelliet station pre-set memory" issues. It seems that the unit randomly resets all pre-sets to the weather channel(184) on all three "SAT's". The Am & FM pre-sets work fine as does the GPS. Problem is only with satellite pre-sets.

Anyone have any ideas????

Sat presets are more than likely stored in the actual sat receiver (not in the head unit), so your problem might be because of the faulty receiver or iffy install that causes the receiver to lose constant power and reset all the time.

Default Thanks...

Zoltiz,

Thanks for the feedback - I figured that the unit was all inclusive - this technology is new to me and there isn't very much info to research on this subject. I will suggest this to dealer when I get a service appointment.

Sat receiver is probably under your pass seat or tucked in somewhere under the dash. I don't think I've seen a car stereo with a built-in receiver yet

Good luck with the dealer and keep us posted.

Default Sat Receiver..

The more I think about this I believe that the installer at the dealship just connected the SAT receiver to the switched ACC power. I am going to take it in after the holidays and will post the findings here.

Thanks, Larry

Well, Sirius problem solved.
Dealer changed cable between head unit(dash radio/gps) and the sirius tuner to fix the problem. They changed the head unit first but trouble remained so changing the rest fixed it. As suggested, the presets are stored in the Sirius tuner not the head unit. There is digital logic and a processor in the tuner so there is more to it than it seems.

Thanks for info, Larry
