How tall are you? I'm 6'1"-6'2" and it blocked my line of sight. Also, has everyone noticed that you can also adjust the mirror UP and DOWN.. the actual height of it is able to be changed. There's two ball joints on it. Take a look at it. Scion was thinking on that one. For sure!

One of my first test drives was in an xD with the overhead console. I had been looking at them online, and considering buying one with my car. The second I got in it I decided the overhead console was not for me.
It is just too big and crowds head room in a car that doesnt have suv type space to spare.

I'm also 6'1", and thanks for the insight. That's what I was worried about. I too accidentally discovered the mirror height thing because I was bothered by how much it blocked line of sight.

I did get it and while its super helpful and functional -- keep all sorts of stuff in it from 2nd pair of glasses to napkins/tissues, info etc.-- I am 6' and if I am leaning over tend to bump into it a lot with my head. So consider that when making a purchase.
