It was hit in it's parking spot during the night. I walked out to go to work and found this with a note under the wiper that had a police report number. Still waiting on insurance and police to find out what happened.

Wow. Most people wouldn't even leave a note, let alone file a police report. You're very lucky

So sad to see that though

Ouch, sorry to see, but very lucky it was someone who is responsible and owned up to it, don't see that very often anymore.

I am SHOCKED there was a note and police report already filed. Really... shocked. I don't think I've ever even heard of someone really doing that.

Well I don't know if it was a responsible person yet, I just know a report was filed. Maybe a neighbor saw it and called it in or maybe the car that hit me couldn't drive away and they had to call. I have to wait 7-10 days to get a copy of the report. Time will tell. I wish I knew what happened.

That's what I was thinking. I bet the person that did it wasn't the one that left the note. It was probably a neighbor that happened to be up and looked outside when they heard it. I think the only way the other person couldn't drive away would be if they were on a motorcycle. Doesn't take much to mess up the plastic parts like the bumper (bumpers are only rated at a 5MPH impact).

Just noticed there is a red motorcycle in the picture in the back. Is it still there?

It might still be there, but that is where I used to live, we have moved since that picture. The car was a day or so old there.

It wasn't just plastic but I didn't really explain everything. My car was hit hard enough on the left front wheel to knock the whole right side of the car up onto to sidewalk and over the top of my wife's bumper (she has a 240sx).

You can't see the front tire very well in this picture, but it is hanging on the edge of the sidewalk, not touching the street. The back tire you can see is on top of the side walk.

A better (maybe?) picture of how much the front wheel is bent. Although the hubcap is not seated all the way on the rim (since the rim is bent as well) and the hub cap is more straight up and down the the wheel.

so believe it or not, just got a note in mail box with all contact and insurance info. There are still good people on the earth. Still don't know what happened but hey, that's trivial atm.

You are very lucky you had a decent person hit you. That being said, sucks you got hit, lol. But at least it seems like things should work out for you, or at least I hope they do.

ya I know right! they finally got the car on the wrecker and damage doesn't seem so bad. I think the transmission and drivetrane seem ok...i hope anyway. Under the hood nothing seemed to be out of place. And now I am going to buy some lottery tickets because I feel that lucky!

Wow, that must have been some impact to put it on the curb. Definitely would like to find out what happened. Have many drunk drivers around you?

Wow. You got hit by the most considerate person in the world. Sucks that it happened, but wow. I'm blown away at the honesty of the person who did it. That is A+.

I think my car ended up on the sidewalk because my wife's 97 240sx was behind my car. I'm guessing my car slid up her bumper a bit and that is how it got on the curb.

Not sure if there are many drunk drivers around, it doesn't seem that way.
