Which is why I say its the same as the uk/jp color. The code on back of the dealer swatches says" Black currant metallic, 9AH"

And gdamnit I want that fking color! >=O

Sadly, I've already "tuned" my car to the black+silver theme so purple is a no go. Unless Clazzio decides to do purple-ish suede inserts, I'm stuck with the ones I have, which I have yet to show off actually and I've had them for... since before my accident in May. O.o

Why so much carbon? Are you planning on racing it or something? If you are that's pretty silly to install a sunroof in the car when you're putting CF on it and bagging it.

The stuff that cheap cars are made out of are well.. cheap. If you spend the bucks to get a Benz, denting it should be much harder on the roof than a Scion. I can warp body panels just by pushing fairly hard with my hand but it never stays.

With the paint color having an issue, it was probably an error in that run of the cars from factory and most likely more cars down the line will not have that problem. Were there any indications when you first got the car that there might be problems down the road? I seem to remember a post a while ago from you about your paint issues but I don't remember specifics.

If it makes you feel any better about the Scion having thin panels... I paint cars, and I've had fenders/panels off many different cars. I could bend a core support on an Eclipse by hand. A Ford Focus I was fixing a door on had the "impact" beams on the inside. I could move them back and forth by hand... and those are meant to protect you when a car slams into the side of your car. I could also twist the junk fender on that by hand... so I wouldn't expect a tank out of any new car. If you want something bullet proof, get a car from the 70's or earlier... My 72 Chevy weighs 5000lbs for a reason. I doubt theres a new car out there that you couldn't easily push a panel in on.

Oh and to keep this on topic... that purple looks awesome... If I wasn't so happy with my RS1 I'd debate trading it in.

rofl if he was planning on racing, those carbon products would NOT. be the ones to go with. Wet carbon is flimsy and heavier than dry carbon. i.e. it's crap

I never knew there were two different types of CF. Hrm, interesting.

Still, I think there was a bad run on the paint for those cars. Would love to see one in person, maybe I'll go to the brake recall and go "shopping" at my local dealership ;)

Saw one today while waiting on my D. It was purty. However, my eye was still drawn to the candy apple red Matrix they had sitting next to it. lol
