Bye Bye xD
Well, after 3.5 yrs of owning my 2008 xD and putting on about 52k miles, I decided to trade it in on a 2012 Ford Edge Limited.
It was a good car and didn't have any problems and regularly got 33 mpg. I'd just put on new Goodyear RSA tires within the last 2 months. It went great in the snow.
But, I never liked how my feet/ankles were always cold in the winter in the car. Even having the heat just blow on the floor, I'd have to have it practically full blast to keep them warm. Also, with all the highway driving I do, I sorta got tired of always hearing the engine noise. Too bad it didn't have a 6th gear. Maybe that might have made it a little quieter.
I rented an Edge in FLA in October, (it was supposed to be a Fusion, but they were out of the mid size and gave me a brand new Edge ). I fell in love with how quiet the ride was. I put about 150 miles on it, which included some freeway, windy and rain conditions. It was very easy to drive and ride in.
When I returned from my trip and got back in the Scion at the airport, I decided then, that I was not going to keep it.
I've never owned a quiet car - as my other ones were always little 4 cylinders and the Mustang (which isn't supposed to be too quiet), so this is really a nice change for me. I will miss the nice gas mileage. The Edge is supposed to get 27 mpg freeway, we'll see if it actually gets that once it's broken in.
I'm very glad I found this board and was able to read and research about the Scion before I bought it and after. It also was great to learn about the TRD sparks to buy discounted filters, etc. from. Thank you everyone for all the information I've learned over the last 3.5 hrs.
If you're interested to see, here is the link to the car. (no affliliation, etc) They are calling it by the wrong color...lol. They also have another xD, but they are asking almost as much for that one like it's new.

I'll be curious to see how long it sits on their lot.

Congrats !! Enjoy the new ride.. The xD is noisy for sure.. I can understand how lots of Hwy driving can wear you down.. It's hard to beat for zipping around the city..
The new Fords look nice !!! Enjoy!

Thanks Everyone. Here is a pic and a link to some others I've taken. I do like that blacked out grill on the Edge Sport.
