Default Dash Rattle- please help

I owned the D for over 6 months now- love the car. I have been reading posts about fixing the rattle under the waterfall air ducts.

I decided to handle this issue myself. I took the waterfall off clicked it back into place several times and the rattle continues. I was going to wrap ordinary tape or electrical tape around where the ducts meet to make a tight seal but some people posted that felt tape works. Felt tape? My question is if I go into an auto parts store what do I ask for? Felt tape? Will they know what I am talking about? The rattle is now driving me crazy. As for the Door speaker vibration/ sounds that is a whole other issue all together- I will get to that some other time. Thanks for all your help in advance.

Interesting... You can usually get a felt tape from a crafts store or a department store. I know Target carries it. I don't know if an auto parts store will carry something like this.

I actually have a similar problem but it's coming from the side vent on the driver's side. You know, the little round one? It rattles like crazy! If I put my hand on the vents then it stops...

I guess I'm lucky because I don't have this rattle.

I was under the impression that the common rattle was between the duct and the dash, not between the vent and the waterfall... but I could certainly be wrong about that.

My rattle was between the duct and the dash. I actually took the top of the dash off and fixed it myself. I removed the center duct under the dash from the heater unit that feeds the center dash vents, applied felt tape, reinstalled everything and I have never had the rattle again.

How difficult is it to remove the dash? Any instructions?
