Default Deviant Car, Sheeple Colors

Can someone please explain to my why Scion would choose such mundane colors for the xD? The xB has teal and blackberry. The tC has crimson. The xD has red, white, black, blue. etc... Come on. The Fit is available in orange and purple. The Rabbit is available in sage green. Even the Aveo comes in copper/orange. I want something with pizazz.

I absolutely love the green in the xD ad inside the front cover of Siphon #004. But it's obviously not a real color change because I've seen the same picture but it was red (the Five Axis car.) If this car were available, it'd be in my garage. If it were the RS1, they'd have my deposit. And as far as doing a color change, I'm not willing to put that much time, effort and money into something that I would never be able to recoup. I don't want it that bad.

As it is, we're stuck choosing between colors that I can get on any car, from any maker. If I can't wait for the RS1 specs to be released, I would take black or red, but I'd rather have green.

Have to agree. Colors are pretty sheeple. Barcelona red is not bad - the rest are 5-year old Corolla colors (IIP, BSP, SSM - all were on '03 Corolla).

Deviant colors are fun on one end, but are a peach when it comes to selling the car in 5 years. The market for purple cars is very small, trust me.

I know what you mean about resale of unique colors. Some do have limited appeal. I have an Mini that's Gold with a Black roof. It wasn't very popular (less than 5000 sold in US) but everyone who sees it, loves it.

Every car company spends (or should spend) lots of money on what the public is willing to buy, including colors. I'm simply asking for one unique color (and that's usually what any company would do, except Nissan which provides 7 colors for the Versa and they all are sheeple.)

Yeah, I think RS was conceived with that specific idea, plus they are priced extremely well. xB1 had some deviant RS colors - basketball orange, green jello, yellow overload and last one, the infamous MSB. tC and xA were more conservative. We'll see what they come up with for the xD. Hopefully for you - something along the lines of xB1

I wish the xD was available in the teel color that the b2 comes in, I do love my metallic grey but would have gone with a different color had it been available

You know, BMW has always done a great job with colors. Rarely, have I looked at a bimmer and said "I wouldn't want that." And they've had a few classics. Midnight blue of yesteryear was a color used by many a tuner. And the M3 red of a couple years ago ('05 I believe) is incredibly rich looking. I don't expect the quality of a $45k car on a $15k one but I would appreciate an attempt.
