Default Door lock beep

Anybody know how to change the beep made when you lock your doors remotely? I'm tired of having the same sound as every other toyota.

Thanks,
troy

Yeah get an aftermarket alarm. I like the sleeper style beep on my car, my previous car used the normal honk and it was loud and annoying.

Having worked at Lexus for a maddeningly long period of time, there's a very slight difference in the chirp between the older models with a separate fob and the newer ones with a single key-and-transponder, as well as those with push-button starting. Basically, if two people are unlocking different types of remotes from Toyota/Lexus at the same time, you'll hear that infinitesimal difference in its pitch.

Having had an old GS 300 which did not beep at all when it locked and unlocked was more annoying, since you had to listen closely for the "click" of the door lock actuators.

I think the beep can be shut off during the Personalized Settings; but I'd personally change it to about 50% of its volume, 'twere it possible.

I think the dealer can only turn the buzzer on or off with their special tool. I like the fact the buzzer sounds off continueously to let you know that one of your door is open to remind you to completely shut it before remote locking.
