Five Axis lip kit in the wild - full car pics
I really like the visual effect such a simple change has on the xD. It gives the bottom of the car a distinct edge and greater "bulk". I guess the question is, is it worth the money? The 4 piece set lists for 10% of the cost of the entire car. And that's unpainted. Two grand can go a long way in other areas like performance and audio. Actually, the look is done so well, I bet even other Scion owners wouldn't know the lip kit was on there unless it was parked next to another xD. Don't get me wrong, I still want it. I'm just playing my wife ... I mean, devil's advocate.
Most of my non-car friends can't tell the difference, even though the car looks wider and lower with the kit. One of them even went as far as saying that he can't tell the difference when I showed him 2 pictures next to each other - one of the stock back end and my car next to it. So yeah, I know it's not a radical change, but that's the only way I'd go personally.
I didn't spend $2K on the kit - nowhere close to that much even including having it painted at the shop. When you make up your mind, get in touch with Ken from TRDSparks.com and ask what he can get you the kit for. On top of that I paid $225 to get it painted at the local Scion dealer's bodyshop. Install and vinyl work was just me myself and I, so that was kinda free
I need to find a bone stock silver xD, park next to it and snap couple of photos. That hopefully will show that there is a difference.
