Default F'n people that Hit and Run

Well yesterday at 3pm i drove off the lot with my brand new xD Rs1... 1915/2000.. happy as a clam, traded my supercharged tC, spent 3 days parting everything out.. well me and my girlfriend did some running around in the new car before going home, so at 7:30 bout 1/2 mile from the house sitting at a light, it just turned green, i put it in first gear to drive out, and then BAMMM!!! We were like WTF just happened, as we looked back, the **** that hit me just sped off, i tried to catch him, but he must have turned off the road before i had a chance to catch up to him. What kind of person would do such a thing to hit someone and then take off, those people need to be hung by their *****, their kneecaps broken, and thrown to jail to be someones B1tch. I was so ____ed off, but was more concerned if my girlfriend was ok, we both had the usual rearended whiplash.. both of us have minor pain in our back, doc gave us some happy pills. The car on the other hand, its not bad, but just painful to look at just because the car was brand new, only 4 hours out of the lot. Already got the ball rolling with a claim through my insurance, they will come out either tomorrow or Friday to assess the damage, then at that time i can take it back to the dealer i bought it at to have their body shop fix the damage because i want the paint to match.

haha.. yep the lip is actually untouched,, but after looking at it today in the daylight.. the passenger tail light needs to be replaced, there is a crack inside it.. the hatch is bent in by the pinchweld, and where the interior panel cover along the back, the metal is bent in. I looked underneath, the crash bar is fine, no bends or shifts, so in a rear collision, the xd holds up pretty nicely... just more ____ed off it had to be my car and a RS1 to boot

Wow! That sucks BIGTIME! I feel your pain...

2 weeks after I got the Box, I got rear ended on the Kennedy. Lucky for me, there was so much traffic in the morning, that they couldn't speed away! I hope you get that fixed ASAP and good luck with the insurance company.

Man that sucks only 4 hours old that’s the worst you didn’t even get to enjoy your new car I would have flipped out.
It’s a good thing the car could take the hit and kept you and your girlfriend safe

Oh i flipped, i have considerbly calmed down now, its just painful to look at when i pass it. I am just glad that neither of us got hurt, because the car can get fixed, its harder if for us to get fixed, when i am driving, i am constantly looking in my rearview mirror to see if people are too damn close.

I didn't even pop the mod cherry, the car wasn't even violated with add ons.

Wonder if the Damd design bottom survived?

Feel your pain bro, after one week of owning my xD I had a similar experience, luckily the lady didn't run though.

I was slowing down because a person in front of me was taking a right turn(we're both in the right lane obviously). I slowed all the way down and stopped, checked my rear view mirror as is habit. See a lady coming up in her 90's honda accord, she wants to merge over to the left lane(she had her turn signal on to get over) so she doesn't have to stop behind me(cuz how dare she have to stop and wait). The left lane was packed though, so she couldn't get over. Yet she continues to come upon me at about 25-30mph, doesn't slow down at all, just keeps coming and plows right into me. I watch, as if in slow motion...."Here she comes, 30 feet, 25 feet, 20 feet, 15 feet ( she ain't stopping) 10 feet, 5 feet" ( at 5 feet I look away and prepare for impact). BOOM, she hits my car, knocks the bumper out of place, tears it in 5 different places and bent one of the supports that sit behind the bumper. When we do pull over this is her excuse, "You stopped too fast!"...................riiiiggghhtttt...... thats why I saw you coming from 30 feet back, and you didnt hit your breaks at all.

im not gonna do much of anything to the xD, just the necessities, HID kit, scion floor mats, install my nav that i kept from the tc, have my rims from the tc, those will go on once i get the car back, there are a couple shows towards the end of the month.

biggest reason for the rs series is that is was already dropped with the TRD kit, had a body kit, and the inside is already decked out..

and GreyFox, the rear Damd lip survived without a scratch

I FLIIPED OUT when I saw there was a tiny scratch, which was buffed out and not even noticable anymore at all, the 2nd day I had my xD. Now I'm pretty good at controlling my anger but I would've raged at everything and everyone if this happened to me.

4 hours! Damn dude that is unfortunate. At least you get to take it to the dealer and not some paint shop because I heard the Hot Lavas are always a little off on the paint if a shop does it.

****** that hit and run are THE WORST! Glad you are ok.

I was worried the same thing would happen to me when I drove off the lot.

I feel the pain, really. Nothing worse than something like this.

One good point about it being new is that the paint hasn't faded or oxidized and it's a current color so paint match should be really good. You also don't have wax buildup yet either.

Sory to hear though-I have quite a few rock chips everywhere on the passenger side, the first ones hurt ( I cried a little)

Well, first off, congrats on the new RS1. Sorry to hear that it was damaged so soon afterwards. Like someone else said, I was upset when I found my first door ding and it didn't even take any paint, so I could imagine your anger at the time. Can't wait to see it after you get it back and all your mods on it.
