Has anyone spray painted their engine cover?

Default Has anyone spray painted their engine cover?

Would like to know if their is a certain type of can i should use and if it will be a simple project.

I've seen people use all kinds of paint for the engine cover. my base coat was actual engine enamel just so it wouldn't crack on me, then another color on top of that. after you paint it, let it sit out for a few days to let the paint cure, otherwise you'll be smelling paint fumes while driving.

How did you cover up the letters and toyota emblem?

blue painters tape and an exacto knife. or you can get a wet paper towel and wipe it off once the paint is still fresh. you can wait until it's dry and sand it off, or try some paint thinner. lots of ways to go about it
