I love the xD!
Just wanted to say that....
l0l0l.
i currently own an xb gen 1 and went to the dealer yest. to check out the xb2 and xd. the xd is far more comfortable (to me) to sit in, i love the dash and the instrument layout. it's roomy, and best of all - awesome gas mileage!
i am keeping my gen 1 for like 300k miles
but if anything happens to it, i am totally getting an xd. l0l
you guys with xd's are lucky ;]

Dude-I was afraid to go drive an XD for just that reason-that I'd want one. There is a guy on here that has one and a 1st gen xb-he says they perform about the same but the xd has more room and is quieter-what did you think in comparison?
i am raving about it because comparing the two of the scions (the xd and the new gen 2 xb), i prefer the xd.
why?
- 1.8L engine in the xd as opposed to the 2.4L engine in the xB - gas milage is important to me.
- since the xb now has the shifter connected to the dash, when i sit in the xb2, my right knee rests against it and it feels like im very cramped. i'm 6'1" - not a giant by far - but sitting in it i could imagine that i would be uncomfortable. in my current gen 1 box, my knee sorta hovers near the shifter if that makes any sense - very comfortable.
- price - the xd is "cheaper" but not by a huge amount
- size - i live in time square and parking spots are $10-$15/hr or free if you can find one. the xd is closer in size to my gen 1 xb than the gen 2 xb is. therefore, i'd find a spot quicker.
these are a few reasons. all-in-all, i love the size and economy of the gen 1 box and if i had to chose another car, i'd like the same. i think the xd is a better fit.

That said, I drove the xD also and LOVE it. It is a more refined car than the xB1, and the drivetrain is a significant improvement. I'm still debating whether to get the xD or xB2 for my wife's car... but my 05 xb isn't going anywhere. It's a classic.
^ my gen 1 is definitely a keeper. i tell my neiece that when she gets to driving age, im going to paint my xb pink and im going to give it to her... oh, btw, she's 1.5 yrs old right now. l0l0l0l0l
the xb is definitely roomier than the xd, but if i was to transition from a gen 1 to a gen 2, i would without a doubt go with the xd. it seems like the xd would be the that you can naturally go to after a gen 1 xb. i mean that in terms of dimensions, gas mileage, price, etc.
