Just bought a new Xd, need some advice.
It is a metallic gray, 5miles off the truck and the only thing I did so far was tint the windows lol.
I just have a couple of questions for yall. Also, my old car was 99' chevy lumina with a huge as system and rims on it lol
1. I live in south florida and it says I am averaging ~29 mpg around town, I only have 250 miles on the odometer, will my mpgs start going up once I break the engine in?
2. Would it be a bad idea to put 2 12's in the back ? I loved them in my old car, but I don't know if subs are the best thing for a new car(also does this void any battery warranty with toyota?)
3. Is there any way to get the ipod jack to work with the 80gb ipod's ?
4. Is there any "essential" upgrades to get with the xd?
5. How would these rims look on the metallic gray lol

And that is it for now.

Congrats on the new ride!
First the mpgs should rise slightly as the engine breaks in.
2 12's might be overkill in a little hatckback because the cabin connects with the trunk but if you're into bass then I say go for it cause for shows it's a plus but you also have to take into account the loss of trunk space for a second sub.
I have no clue about the ipod and I own a tC so i'm not sure about essential upgrades but new springs with a little drop and those wheels would look sweet.

I am going to go mess around with the ipod thing some more, the thing is, when I connect the adapter, and I hit aux/ipod mode on the headunit, nothing happens, it dosen't even switch modes

I've come to the conclusion after seeing quite a few xD's.
That they can pull off almost any type of rims...for the most part.
Correct me if I'm wrong with some pictures.

(Couldn't find a gray one in stick, settled for silver.)
I'm assuming that you know there is a function on Tire Rack to view the rims on your car... you can even select the color of your car so it looks right.
Also, as far as amps/subs, there is nothing you can do to your car that will void any part of the warranty unless Toyota can prove that what you did caused damage. If you put in something that damages any wiring, the battery, alternator, etc., of course it is your fault and they won't cover it. They cannot (by law) void any part of your warranty if there is no failure. In other words, they can't look at your subs and go make a note in the computer to not cover any electrical problems on your car.
As far as fuel efficiency, it will probably improve after a couple thousand miles. However, your driving habits will change as you get used to the car, too. 29 MPG around town is pretty good, figuring that the car is rated at 29 MPG average. Of course, the gauge reads 2-3 MPG high, so you're probably getting closer to 27 MPG, which is still above the "city" rating. People get higher and lower than that, depending on how they drive and what their commute is like. The lowest I've ever gotten in my xD was 31 MPG, and half of that tank I was towing a 1,600 pound trailer. That was 90% highway, though... and no really short trips.
