Default license plate bolts

I know this question isn't specifically about xDs, but it will involve my xD, so I thought I'd ask here. What's the secret to preventing license plate bolts from freezing up? I've had a couple cars where the bolts just rust in place and broke off when I tried to remove them. So on my last car (Camry that is for sale after being replaced by my xD), I used brass screws, figuring they wouldn't rust and I'd be fine. Somehow those have completely seized up too, and the heads are just stripping when I try to remove them. I'm going to try drilling etc. this afternoon, but for future reference, what's the best kind of bolt to use to prevent this problem in the first place? Nylon? Stainless? Steel with anti-seize compound?
I'd appreciate any advice...
Thanks,
Andy

I always replaced mine on all my cars to the plastic/nylon ones. Never had a problem with getting them off. Car before tC had them on for 10 years, came right off.

Just use stainless, you'll be alright... Maybe put a bit of anti-lock on them before screwing them in.
