This person obviously has pride of ownership and has put in effort and money to make it "cool and pretty". But, for me, it's about getting the maximum usefulness out of my xD. Hauling a canoe on the roof rack, hauling bikes, going places and living an active lifestyle. The "sick" wheels an lower profile are dollars that could have been spent on things to equip it to do more instead of less...I guess is all I'm trying to say.
i know this really cool website you should check out... its called http://www.iliketo_____aboutpeoplewi...etheircars.com

pimping an xD is a waste of money, is it? well, i dont own a canoe, so getting a roof rack is a waste of money for me. not sure how lowering my car has anything to do with me not living an active lifestyle, either. i guess our ideas of "sick" must differ:

I could have sworn that the reason you lower a car is for performance reasons, better handling, better traction that sort of thing.... hence enhancing the vehicle to suit our needs... kinda like your roof rack situation... except better, cause we arent killing our gas mileage, and increasing exterior noise, like the roof rack does....

Its all a matter of opinion I guess....

they're jealous jim.

and to the person about the lowering; i said the same thing about my tc at first, but most cars LOOK a hell of alot better lowered for 1, helps with better ride, i think somewhat helps aerodynamics which in return a lil bit better gas mileage (not sure if true but sounds good lol) ect... but like someone else said everyone has their own opinion

and that's a very nice car for sure.

I'm a 22 year old single female - no kids... I want my car to look good, and I think lowering it puts it on a whole new level. It's perfectly functional... I can still haul my suitcase when I go see my boyfriend 4 hours away. I used my car to move from one apartment to another. I carried my snowboard for 2 winters now... My xD is still functional, even though it's lowered.

People don't solely buy cars to be 'functional'. Go to ONE car show, and tell me how many of those muscle cars serve as a daily driver. Go to HIN or IFO and tell me how many of those cars are actually 'functional'.

I'm not trying to rant, I'm just saying, some people have a sh*t ton of money and like cars for toys - so they make them insanely cool, and non-functional.

My xD only needs to get me from point A to point B (says my mom). But quite honestly, I'd rather do it with a little bit of style, thank-you-very-much!

And yeah, that's Blake's xD from BR, LA. He actually JUST stepped down as the clubwide president for Scikotics. Pretty cool guy! Got a nice D too!

I thought that would generate some defensive responses from the lowered or lowering crowd. Now I'm curious to find out what the age is of the oldest person to lower their xD? I think lowering is most likely a 20's to early 30's favorite mod. Is there anyone over 35 that has done this? Is it true that the younger you are the lower you want your car? I'm not bashing the youthful enthusiasm for wanting to express your individual styles. It's not everyone's taste though. Lower isn't better for everyone. Style, much like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Have fun making your xD an expression of who you are or want to be. Enjoy your "active" lifestyles.

Kary from Minneapolis is 48 and he has TRD lowering springs. I think Blake is in his 30's. Mike (SciFion) from Wine Country, California is 51, Scionizer from Indy is 44... just to name a few! haha
