oil

I would imagine you could just change it to the proper synthetic and then maybe short change it after a little while (full tank of gas through it?) and id say that would remove the majority of the conventional oil.
For the mechanics out there...would a short change be necessary or would just changing it now to synthetic be good?
Im no mechanic but that'd be my guess...change it and then again after its been ran through the engine a little

Just run the oil you put in it. Y throw that money out of the window?!?! Then when its oil change time put synthetic back in. Don't lose sleep over it. Your cars not magically gonna blow up or anything!

It will be fine for 5K miles.. The pre-2010 models all came with conventional oil and a 5K mile change interval.

Yeah from what I've gathered from talking to all the mechanics that service my car, it shouldn't be an issue changing back from conventional oil to synthetic oil. As long as it's a newer car though. No point in wasting the new oil you just put in there right?
