Default 2008 "Cylon" xD

Here's a couple pix of my 'D from the Scion 2008 East Coast Show of Champions in Baltimore, MD on August 3rd. It actually won 1st place in the xD division...
The SCION body graphics on the sides and rear bumper are reflective at night, and I just got my personalized Vanity License Plate "CYLON XD" about two weeks ago...

More pix of my xD at the link in my signature...

In the Winner's Lineup after the show...

What is Cylon ??
Well, I'm a big Science Fiction fan; Cylons are the rebellious robot servants in the current SciFi Channel TV series Battlestar Galactica (also the original network show of the same name from the 1980's). Kind of a similar idea as the robots in the movie "I Robot" with Will Smith...

Cylon is just a play on the word Scion, and I've even heard people "not in the know" pronouce Scion as Cylon, lol! Also, in the tv show they refer to the Cylons as 'Toasters', a term we also use to describe the boxy xB, and the xD has been referred to as the "Mini-Toaster"... Anyway, you could look at our cars as a kind of robot, taking us where we want to go... So that's the whole jist of it...

And yeah, I bought the car without the larger spoiler, I thought at the time it looked better with just the small stock spoiler, but I later decided to put an aftermarket one one to make it look "sportier". Now that it's on, I really like the look - it grows on you...

Hey M2, I especially like all the sound-deadening material that was added to the inside of the cabin to improve the tonal quality of that audio system, heheh...!

Yeah, very similar, only KITT's was 6 or 7 individual lights in a row that lit up back and forth; the Cylon scanner is one single red light that physically moves back and forth, so that would be a little harder to recreate if I wanted to build something like it... Have to mount a single red bulb on a belt drive or something...

Hi Cylon

Vehicle is on tour with Memphis Car Audio this year for the hot import nights tour. A lot of my previous project vehicles have ran 150+ db sound systems with no dynamat and no rattles. This vehicle will be doing time attack next year and the system comes out. it's a temporary thing.

yeah, i was just pulling your leg about that, it just looked kinda funny having a big audio system in a car with all that bare metal showing - of course, if it's a powerful enough system,, you ain't gonna be able to hear any reverberrating audio bouncing around in the cabin over the audio level - just drown it right out, lol!

it's actually not that big of an audio system 2 10's and 2 sets of components. just a basic system w/ the new compact amps =) it's being redone post sema to just speakers because the rear end of the car will just hold a fuel cell.
