Default Proud new owner of Nautical Blue xD!

It was pouring rain mixed with snow today so I didn't bother to take any pictures, but next day off I will snap some shots of my new car beside DH's Mustang. It's so much roomier than the Stang, but a bit shorter in length due to the smaller front end and trunk area. I just love it. DH wanted me to get the xB but even he is loving the new car.

I liked the xB a lot too, but just thought it was too big for my needs and quite honestly, I test drove a bunch of cars but the moment I sat behind the wheel of the xD I was certain I would be buying it. Love it.

My wife also has a nautical blue xD, after driving just about everything else out there. Her reaction to the car was the same as yours. After two months she still talks about it all the time, and that's not at all like her. Congrats, and good luck with your new ride!

I love mine too, in silver. It looks super sweet next to my DH's Barcelona Red Yaris S sedan... both cars fit great in the garage. Enjoy driving the new D, I find myself driving all over town now cause I love it so much!

Nautical Blue is a great color. I had to special order mine and took nearly 2 weeks, dealer had only red, silver and white.

I wanted Vehicle Stability Control but its difficult to get one in California without the extra add-ons. Did you get VSC on your xD up there in Stephen King country? Believe it or not, but I wish for some rain or snow here or even a cloudy day, doesn't seem like Thanksgiving when its 82 and sunny!

Anyway, I've had Nautical Blue xD since late September and can't get over how roomy the car is and all the features as standard. Congrats and Go PATS!

Our Nautical Blue xD also has VSC, and our dealer had to trade cars with another dealer for us to get it. Then we added alloys. A click on my name will show pix of it. My wife took delivery of it around September 1st, me thinks.

man, i don't see myself as too picky compared to some, but all i asked for was Blue w/ VSC. My dealership has yet to find one, and it's been over 4 months...

My dealer told me VSC is distributed with an "eye dropper" in warm climates. The only way to get VSC in Nautical Blue was with a dealer 200 miles away with add-ons increasing the total to over 25 grand. No significant rain where I live in over 2 years so I could live without VSC.

25 grand??!?!?! i think they might have been pulling your tail to make it easier on them... i've yet to see an xD THAT high.

it does seem hard to come by, though. at least ever other safety feature is standard: i was heavily considering the Versa (nowhere near as much fun or as awesome looking, tho), but I could only find ONE within 500 miles with ABS, and that included every option (bluetooth, every upgrade, leather, etc. etc.) bringing it to somewhere around 23K before ttl.. sad part, this still didn't include some of the safety and convenience features of the xD. had a cvt, tho... but still not worth it. you'd figure that would almost be standard around the board o_O

25 grand was my total "out the door" estimate including tax, license and fees. The xD with the VSC was fully loaded with alloy, navigation system, sound, sport suspension, etc. I don't need any of that, the only option I chose was automatic.

I test drove the Versa, weak engine compared to xD and standard features cannot compare with Scion. Also like Pure Pricing, no hassle.

I ordered a Manual Blue w/ VSC from Toyota of Dallas in August. It still hasn't arrived. They first told me at the end of November. Now they are saying next month. Of course we are leaving the country for a month over the holidays so if it doesn't make it by the beginning on December I guess I will take delivery on it in January.

I was torn on the VSC, but ended up not getting it. I've never had a car with one and so far fared ok. I did experiment with VSC a lot at the BMW performance driving school and it does make a hell of a difference correcting small driver errors, but it was still pretty easy to get the car spinning in circles with full DSC on. Good driving school with a lot of practice hours in controlled environment makes way more sense than a gadget IMHO.

lol true. i had it on 2 of my cars (new Frontier crew cab and Armada). it really helped on the armada, especially in the rain, but the tires on that suv were HORRIBLE. the frontier didn't really need it, but it was useful once or twice.

it isn't really a necessity, but i like to have it just in case. there will always be that bad rain storm with the deep puddles you can't see. of course, i've never been in a situation bad enough with my '87 300zx (no abs, no automatic, no rain tires, etc.) that i couldn't get out of, but it's still a nice feature just in case. Plus, it helps with insurance a little ;-) (of course, it might take a year or five to pay itself off)

I didn't get any bells and whistles...this one was just the basic automatic with no extras. I tried to snap some photos after work but it was dusk and they came out dark. I swear, it's dark when I go to work and it's almost dark when I get out of work!

No real plans to modify it at this time -- I would like to buy wheels at some point but that can wait I guess.

Dusk in New England and the Nautical Blue still stands out. The color is attention grabbing, when my xD finally arrived from Long Beach and the guys had it detailed gleaming in the California sun, my salesman told me there were at least 5 people who wanted to buy my car! Good thing all paperwork was finished.

lmao, that's awesome. i'll make sure to get my car paperwork finished before i buy it, but i doubt there's room for concern here... the xAs are just catching on.

wow. i like the blue. i haven't seen a blue one in person.

i chose black, which i love. i drive through a dust storm almost every day, i'm kind of wondering if i should've gone with a lighter color. oh, well. it looks good when it's clean!
