to be honest...I dont like it....Its the two-tone...should have just went with flat black.

 

been there, done that. wanted something a bit different. black on black with different finishes suited this car just fine.

I love the look. I saw it HIN in Chicago and it looked fantastic. Could do something with the headlights and tail lights though. They kind of stick out like a sore thumb. And I totally didnt realize the back doors were shaved til now.

 

the heads and tails were 100% blacked out... decided it was killing body lines so we removed the lens paint

....... I hate bein negative but why in the world would you take a brand new car, take a 4 door and make a 2 door, primer it, and put a tow hook on it???? That is ridiculus in my eyes..... Its one thing to mod a scion a little but come on its a scion!!! Not a race car....... I'm sure you'll see a great return on that one....

 

Why would anyone do anything to a new car then? Most people who are not just here to get their flame on know the difference between a matt paint and primer but hey, its whatever. We built a two door because we felt a 2 door hatch would be awesome, and we love the outcome. We built a car we wanted as a group and that hasnt been done yet with this car. We did what we set out to do, and can't please everyone.
To be honest if we built cars everyone liked then we would be doing something totaly wrong.

As far as seeing a great return I know we will. You see, we built this car for Scion Chicago region along with two other clubs and thier cars. After the season the cars will be raffeled off for charity. When Scion owners give back to people in need that is reward enough.

 

well i give props that you will donate it to charity but thats because no one would buy it.... i understand what you mean about the paint but i paint autos as well.... and the reason we in the paint industry don't do black matte finish or flat is because it looks like primer. if it was red maybe a different story..... sorry i don't like it but i'm not gonna get flamed for not making a primered rice mobile..... the remark about doing something to a car that if everyone liked then you would be doing something wrong has to be the dumbest thing i've ever heard. If you did something to make every one like it then it would be right because, you guessed it, everyone likes it. and why not buy a coupe? the body lines do not flow at all for a two door? that is why most people buy these cars... besides most of the ricer world has kids at 16 and 17 so they need that back door for their baby and baby mommas. anywho.... have a blessed day.

O god i hurt somebody's feelings saying his car looks like ____..... its an open forum get over it. to each his own.... you guys like trying to make slow cars fast. i am digging good gas mileage so i bought this for driving around town instead of my jeep and bronco.

and yes people do hot rod cars. they do it to hot rods.... old cars that are light, big engines and usually under 2,00 bucks.... not 16,000.

and since you live in america, you'd better learn to deal with how people react to your opinions. if all you care about with the xD is that gas mileage, then go hang out in the gas mileage threads, who cares what other people are doing to their cars. and you dont think a hot rod is going to cost $16,000? are you that clueless?

im a fan of this car. everything about it, and NOT just because i helped work on it.

i like it for the fact its unique, and not swirling in a world of scissor doors, big wings, fart can exhaust, and all of that jazz.

sometimes complexity in simplicity is the way to go, and sometimes its not. in this case, it is the way to go.

 

turner is like our local troll in a way He's 20 (supposedly) yet his writing style says different. Oh, turner images aren't allowed in signatures. Fix it.

I prefer the matte finish over the gloss, but the mixture of the two isn't that great. However, its my opinion so ignore it if you love/like the car
