I wish I had bought the car from YOU I'd probably already have the spoiler installed and the nav system...I purchased those and a few other things...and NO call about whether they've come in or anything! I've already put 200 miles on it in 5 days. I love it! I'm sure I'd love it EVEN MORE if my options ever get installed.

I even bought it from one of the biggest toyota dealers in TN !! It just goes to show you...if you get a lazy salesperson...it doesn't matter does it?

And, if I ever see a green RS in person...I'm sure it will sting a bit. I sure was interested in that one!

Default so far...

I added a center armrest, center overhead console alloys and a wood grain dash kit and a K&N air intake system. I think I'm now good to go.

I'd suggest going to a manager to get things done. Tell he you compared your experience with other Scion owners at other dealerships and it seems like you've received poor service in comparison.

My hubs has already gotten the manager involved and it doesn't seem to be helping much....I think they might be overwhelmed with the Cars program this week? I'm trying to cut them some slack but getting impatient.

I bought the nav system, sport pedals, overhead console, spoiler, the interior lights and the paint protection film. If it ever gets installed by the dealer.

Congrats on your new RS! Do you love it?

I picked mine up last week after MUCH discussion with the Sales manager....and then guess what? THe light kit wasn't installed (they didn't mention that they were sent the "wrong" kit...suspect) and ...the film protection can't be put on for two weeks. So.....I keep waiting for it to be "mine".

Has ANYONE had these kinds of issues buying their new Scion? Is it part of the deal...where you wait and wait for the options to arrive and be installed?

I've had mine for about a week now, and it's a pretty awesome ride. I read your other posts, and it kinda sucks how the dealers your dealing with are making you wait like that...And putting all those miles on a new car sucks too. From what the dealer told me, since I bought a limited series, they try as much as possible not to put too many miles on it before they find a buyer. So the one I bought has been chillin in their showroom since Friday, and I test drove it on and bought it on Sunday, which had 19 miles on it when I drove it off the lot.

My xD isnt a RS but I had to wait over 3 weeks for it because I wanted Nautical Blue Metallic. The dealership I worked with couldnt find one locally, heck the only one they had on the lot was a white with a stick shift, but had one (with VSC) scheduled to come in the week after. I put a deposit on it to be sure I had first crack at it. Then that became two weeks, then it became three weeks. Finally after about 3.5 weeks I got my xD. I was so happy when I first sat in it, took a big whiff of new car plastic smell, turned the key and saw that whopping 4 miles on the odo. It was my first ever brand new car! Other than having to wait for the car to be delivered, this dealership has been great to work with for my xD. When my husband wanted to look at a Rav4 on the other hand, ugh, we had to walk out because the salesman (not the one that worked with me on the xD) was a flake.

Post pictures I want to see your new cars! I LOVE LOVE mine...even with the hassle...(mainly because I have two kids so all the car swapping was a chore with a car seat...and because we bought from a dealership about 20 miles away....)

We've certainly learned our lesson...but Toyota sent me questionaire of our experience of buying and my husband has decided he's going to write them a big letter...and cc the dealership on it.

My RS2 XD is at the dealer right now getting a liberal application of window tint. It's bone stock otherwise, but I'll post a pic later today or after I detail it on Wednesday next week.

I bought my RS2 about a week ago. I have number 525 of 1600. I love it so far. I do have one issue....the Pioneer Avic nav system locks out a bunch of menu options when the car is in motion. Such as the ability to turn the screen off or change destination or watch video. I have done some research and found a hardwire fix--however, that involves removing the radio and soldering some wires and stuff. Since I just got the car I am very hesitant to remove the radio to fix the problem. Does anyone know of a SOFTWARE fix that I could use as an alternative?

The hardware fix does not involve any soldering and takes 5 minutes. It involves splicing some wires and is completely reversible. There is a better chance of bricking the unit with the software hack. I have done the hardware mod and everything has been A-OK

TheQuietThings....would you mind posting a link to a site that has step by step instructions on removing the unit and switching the wires and everything. That would be awesome

Do not worry about the VSS wire. It is not necessary.
There is a software bypass out now if you do not want to do the wire swap. All of the info is on www.avic411.com
Here are pictures for the bypass via mute wire:

move yellow/black wire from here:

to here, and ground the wire you moved:

Hi Fellow Wasabi XD owners! I just picked mine up this evening #1046 of 1600. After a long 3 week wait, it finally arrived and was well worth the wait!! I love it!!

Are the Xd RS series priced higher than the regulars?

Yup, they are more expensive depending on how much extra was put into them.

For example the latest tC RS 6.0 starts at $19,290 while a regular tC starts at $17,770.

has anyone with an RS2 done the wire mod to their radios (few posts above)? This wire mod sounds very simple.

I though we had to do something different with our radio. Here was the other link i saw a while ago about it.

getting sick of having to stop the car to add/change a destination.
