Default speedometer needle not bouncing back anymore..

Anyone else have/had this problem, and what was the determined fix or problem for it?

I think this may have been posted before, couldn't find the topic though..

Thanks for any insight.

It is programmable. Have seen it here before, but search function has trouble narrowing anything down.

Here is the solution: Many people have tried to reset their Maintenance Required light...The owners manual states to make sure the trip computer is first on the "Odometer" setting, turn the ignition off, then press and hold the mode button down...Once you do this, then turn the key on until the Maintenance Req'd light resets.

This is actually INCORRECT. What this does is takes you to the display indicating S-ON or S-OFF. This means "Swing" on or off for the needles when you start the car. To toggle to S-On or S-Off, just press and release the mode button until the correct mode is displayed. If you want the needles to swing, make sure the display says S-ON then turn the ignition off. It's set. If you don't want them to swing, press the mode button to say S-OFF, then turn the key off. Yours is most likely set to S-OFF.

To reset the Maintence Required light, the mode must be on TRIP A first, then turn the ignition off, press and hold the mode button, then turn the ignition on and hold until you see the hash marks go from ------ to ----- to ---- to --- etc until they are all gone, now the maintence req'd light is reset.
