Default Tire sizes on stock wheels

I have the stock steel wheels on my 09 xD..
The OEM tire size is 195/60 16's which are hard to find and the
selection sucks.
I figure I can get the 205/55 16 with no issue on same wheel ?? More to choose from and less expensive too.. Should not change the overall diameter enough to matter and should look fine on same width rim..
Any experiences or comments?
Still on stock tires at 36K miles with more to go..
Thinking about the Yokohama avids or the Hankook Ventus V12's
Thanks in advance for your feedback..

I got the 205/55 16s - Michellin Hydroedge. I like them so far.
Sometimes they feel like they hit grooves in the road kinda funny and pull a little bit.

Another vote for these tires, they come with a 90K warranty and will probably last more than 100K easily.
