Default When is the 2010 xD available??

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, and in the process of purchasing my first Scion. I've been interested in the xD for about 8 months, and have finally decided to take the plunge. Of course I made my decision right when the 2010 is about to come out, so of course I'm going to wait for that time. Is there any way of finding out when it's going to be available? My dealer, who is a very nice and helpful person, doesn't have a date for me, but I know she's very busy with this whole cash for clunkers thing these days, so finding an answer for me just may take more time than it's worth.

Is there any way for me to guage when I can get my new Scion? I've put in an order with the dealership for one, and they are saying "soon" but have no exact timeframe for me. Is this accurate? When were the 2009 Scion xD's released?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

See if you can find an 09 from another dealership, the 09 and 10 models are basically the same cars.

well, the '09 and '10 are the exact same price (if you include vehicle stability in the '09), so I might as well wait for a newer car, because it'll help me for a trade in down the road.

Yeah it should get you a few extra dollars on trade in, I think the newer models usually pop out around September.

September, and the 2010s have VSC on them standard, it's rare to find an 09 with it. The price difference is $150 btw (the VSC is worth 5x that). methinks the clunkers money will run out before september, so I'd suggest just taking the loss and buying an 09 :/

Question (if you know): When you say September, is that when they are starting to be manufactured and allocated, or when they roll into the dealership lots?

Also, I'm not part of the cash for clunkers program, so that's not a worry to me. My old Saturn gets too good of gas mileage.

And, it turns out that an '09 with VSC and a '10 are the EXACT same price. The dealership I went to, and I believe all dealerships now, have removed $500 from the price of an '09 (making the VSC cost essentially $150 more) and the price of a '10 is $150 more. So the price of a '09 and a '10 are now the same, as long as you'd be wanting to pay for the VSC on a '09. It was when I figured that out that I decided I should wait for the '10 model, since it'd be the same price but "newer."

They should be on the ground in September, I actually picked up my 08 xD in July of 07, the 2010's are already being produced, infact my dealership already has a 2010 xB in stock...

Cool... so '09 xD's officially have VSC standard? That's good news!

'10 xD's have it standard. '09's do not. But if you get the '09 with VSC, then you'll pay the exact same as a '10 because they have dropped $500 from the price of '09's and added $150 to the price of '10's. That's a difference of $650, which is the price of VSC and now a standard feature on the '10s.

Make sense? You can still (theoretically) get an '09 without VSC if you can find it, and save $500.

But the xD 2010 also has a nicer stock stereo, and the upgrade is a touchscreen instead of the 'obnoxious' stereo upgrade on the 2009.

My dealer said they weren't coming in until September. I was able to find a 2009 xD with VSC about 600km away (and the dealer offered to throw in lifetime power train warranty as well), but I'm torn on whether to wait for the 2010 or not. If CARS runs out before I can get one, I won't be able to buy until mid next year. But I also don't want to buy an 09 when the 10s come out a month later.

I guess I'll just have to watch the meter they have on the cars.gov site now, and see how close I'm cutting it. For all the sound and fury the dealers have been making, only 8m of the 850m available has been used so far. And the number should slow down since people won't be rushing to get in line...

As a side question. The way the iPod hookup is listed on the 2010 makes it seem like it supports more audio players than just iPod. Does the 09 only support the iPod?

The '09 has an aux jack (3.5mm) and an ipod jack so it would support other media players. As I understand it, the '10 has a aux jack, ipod jack, and usb connection, so it just has MORE options, but I think the '09 would support it all too..but what do I know, I don't own my scion yet!!

RS models basically signify the end production of that years model. Expect to see 10s end of August / early September.

I got my '09 in mid September and it was the first '09 xD to hit the dealership. It came with VSC too, I didnt have a choice on it, originally I didnt want it but it was the first '09 NBM to be anywhere close by. And I had to have a NBM. Glad I got the VSC now tho. Helped out this winter on my mountain climb commute to work.
