Emergency brake locked 107,000 miles
Hello. Yes it is 2023 and I've had my 2008 Scion xd since it was a little over 52,000 miles.
I haven't had any challenges and I am so thankful. Until I got in my five-speed Scion xd after being in a store and the emergency brake was locked.
I don't know if anyone knows, however I've read some other threads about the connectivity between the emergency brake and the rear brakes, etc. could this be a simple fix or do I have to be concerned about driving down the road and everything locks up?
I live in South Carolina so it is not a temperature related issue.
Thank you

On my 2008 xD, the emergency brake line got gummy. The e-brake would not release. No idea how it happened. It almost looks like the inner insulation melted. Had to replace the whole Bowden cable. A professional diagnosed and did the replacement for me, so, no idea how difficult it is.
