Default xD Cargo dimensions?

Hi -

I tried searching for an answer and nothing came up. I was wondering if anyone knew what the cargo dimensions of the xD were (specifically between the wheel wells).

I'm considering trading in my current vehicle for the xD and the cargo dimensions are a big factor in my decision.

Thanks in advanced.

Ok, so between the wheel wells is ~3ft 5in. From the back of my car to behind my drivers seat (not moved and with back seat down flat) is ~4ft 8.5in. Like this area counts, but between the wheel wells and the hatch, its ~4ft 4in wide. I hope this helps

What is your current car?

Thanks again!

Right now I have a 2003 Honda Accord but I've got dogs and it sucks as a dog car. I'm looking for a small hatchback that I can stick 2 dog crates in. I considered the Honda Fit as well but it is kind of awkward looking and I really like the look of the xD.

I'll probably head to the dealer tomorrow to check it out and test drive it.

What size dogs? I have an 18lbs Westie that I stick in to a crate when we go driving and it fits fine on the back seats, and would probably fit just fine in the cargo area too but I don't put her there. Plus, if you do need the extra room and never have passengers in the back, you can actually scoot the seats forward but keep them upright instead

So I bet you know about all the cool seat positions you can do in the Fit, well you can do most of those in the xD too

I've got 2 German Shorthaired Pointers (1 60lb adult, 1 ~35-40lb 6 mo old) and 2 terrier mixes. I usually only travel with the GSPs to dog classes and outdoor places, though. The older one really doesn't need a crate in the car but the puppy is driving me nuts so she really needs a crate in the car.
