Yea that review, in my eyes, wasn't the best. It's a cheap car so of course there is going to be road noise.
Oh well. I don't care what others think about my car
I love it and thats all that matters.

Reviews of cars are so predictable. I have always wondered what is "cheap plastic". People try to classify the look and feel of plastic -- what a waste of time. If the dash of a car looks as good 10 years from now as it does today, then it's "good". If it fades and looks like crap in a few years, then it "sucks". A really important characteristic of a dash and other interior components is the lack of rattles. No rattles is "good".
Another idiotic complaint is the the "blind spot" in the rear quarter panel of the xD. I have a rear view mirror and I can rotate my head to the left and right. That rear panel is not a problem. A thick front pillar is good, not bad. If you ever roll the car, do you want to be upside down in a car with thin pillars or one with thicker pillars - you decide?
Seating comfort is a very subjective measurement. I find the seats quite comfortable. In the end, you just need to drive the different alternatives and decide for yourself. Don't take Consumer Reports too seriously.

You know, as far as seat comfort goes yes other cars may have squishier seats (the xB2, for example) but I have never had a sore ___ in my xD to date, and I drive a lot! It's a much firmer seat than others, but I kind of like the support! I do wish it had an adjustable lumbar, though... I never feel like I have enough back support in most cars nowadays...
Oh and I love the complaint about how you have to push a power button to power on the radio... um yeah...

Consumer Reports is a joke. Their reviews are skewed as they have "favorites". My wife bought a Ford Focus because of their raving reviews. Well, after 42K miles, we sold it because it was a POS.
Frankly, the "expert" reviews of the XD, and many smaller cars are a joke. I read one where they said that Scion needs to work with Lexus to reduce road noise. HUH??? Last time I checked, this ia $16K economy car. I get a kick out of these reviews who want the car to be an GS430. They complain about the dissapointing gas mileage (I am averaging about 34 in town, and about 32 with AC, I am in Phoenix), yet in the next sentence they complain about accleration and say the car needs more horespower. They say the interior looks cheap. Have they been in the Fit? I love the Fit, but the interior on the Xd is what sold me. The seats are far more comfortable as well.
I put far more weight on the owner reviews. The owner reviews are amazing for this car and I for one love it. It looks fantastic, has many factory options that I wanted (such as lowering kits and wheels), oh yeah, and it has full IPOD integration. Either way, I hope people send lots of time researching the vehicle before they choose a car. I think Consumer Reports os a terrible place to start.
