xD Haters Unite! In common decency of course...
Well here it is, the Scion xD

To compare, here is the Great and good ole' xA

I went to the Scion website and submitted a webform with my complaints.
It doesn't do much to complain on here, but if everyone makes themself heard to the Scion corporation (aka toyota) then maybe we can fix the 3rd Gen and bring it out alot sooner
This is what I sent.
They have not replied yet, they sent me a confirmation email with a reference number, and I have it saved on my comp.
All we wanted was the tC motor right? Not some freakish HHR/Versa love child.
xD haters unite! (BUT IN DEFENSE) I am glad they made it xD and not 2nd Gen xA then I would really feel like I got jipped.
Scion.com's Webform Just enter I would like to tell you an expirence with Vehicle Sales. (they will foward it, like they did to me)
Unless someone on here knows a better way to contact and complain, please share if you do
(be sure to vote above)
*NOTE* Remember to keep it clean and orderly, or they and Scionlife will not listen to us.

First note, please foward this webform to whomever it may concern, for this is a complaint on the new models going to be released in 2008.
I bought my 1st Scion xA in 2005 and loved it. I bought my 2nd Scion xA to replace the automatic I had and love it more. This is the ultimate car in my opinion.
Why would Toyota, a company with great vision and vehicles, shame the Scion name with the xD? I saw pictures of the xD on the Autoblog.com website and I am thoroughly disgusted.
The new Scion xB is a decent 2nd Generation vehicle I have little or no complaints for this model in 2008.
But as you can see I am very upset about the replacement for the xA the Scion xD. I am extremely pleased however is it now called the xD and does not shame the xA's good name.
The C-Pillar on this vehicles is just pathetic. The 1.8 Liter in the vehicle is unfair, whereas the xB now has the tC engine. The xD gets a 1.8 liter? Why?
The biggest selling point of the original Scions was the fact they are "Exactly the same, but totally different." With the new xB and xD they are just only totally different.
Toyota may claim the xA as a failure since it sold half of what was expected. But this happened not because the xA was bad, but because the xB was so stylish and out of the norm.
The "Baby shoe" or "Wedge" design of the xA was classic, amazing, and totally cool and different. With this wannabe Versa/Fit it makes me sick.
I for one am very happy with my xA and will have nothing to do with the xD at all, period.
Next time, dont break xA's owners hearts. All we wanted was the tC motor, not a dysfunctional half-breed step child of a wannabe scion, thats ugly too.
- Jeff, Owner of a Scion xA.

Im glad you like it.I guess im just Die-Hard xA all the way.
I actually don't get exaclty what it is you dislike based on your letter...the C-Pillar...and you think the 1.8 is "unfair"? in what way?? You should be more detailed and less opinionated (in my opinion :D ) And - isn't it a bit early to write a complaint if you've never even sat in one, or even seen a 360 view of one?
I agree with everything you said but as if it were talking about the new xB. I think both new models suck. I want a tC engine in my old xB. Why are there now two different body styles for a bB and xB? Somebody at Toyota is smokin too much crack or just not paying attention to their customer's preference. The old xA and xB body styles are classics and will always be but what there is is what there is now. There will never be any new old xA's or xB's. A single tear rolls down my cheek.
If they just spent time figuring how to put all the good things from the new models into the old models i.e paddle shifter, adjustable rear seats, HID, rear disc brakes. It's like they put all the good stuff we get from Japan to put in our cars and made a new car for the parts. Why can't they just put out the old body styles with all the good Japanese stuff. My goal when modifying my xB was to make it look the way i thought a stock xB should look off the lot. That means clear corners, hood dampers, dual exhaust, E'sam's, blue mirrors, LED tails, mesh grille, gunmetal rims....basically as close to the bbX as i could get. Sorry for babbling. I'm done now.

like i said in a previous thread... the lip kit on the 5axis xd really makes the front end look better than the xa. that being said... you didn't have to replace the bumper... or add anything to it to make it look cool. i would love to have paddle shifters on my xa... other than that i'm completely satisfied with my xa... i'll finish payin it off and by then hopefully we'll have the third generation scions to look forward to... or a reincarnation of the supra.

Frankly, I like the xD a lot more than the xA. I HATED the xA, and the changes they made to the xD makes it so desireable, to me at least.
Why do you want the 2.4L in the xD? It's a FUEL HOG. Frankly, I'm disappointed the xB uses the AZ instead of the ZR. For a subcompact car meant for more in-city kinds of uses, why do you need such a powerful motor? For a car designed for people in college or just out of college, wouldn't better fuel economy be more desirable? This is still a Yaris-based car. The 2.4L would drive the price up, too. The xD is already going to cost more than the xA. With the AZ, it would cost a lot more.
What you wanted out of the xD defeats the idea of an affordable, practical, subcompact car designed to be appealing for 18-24 year olds. An engine that's powerful enough and doesn't chug gas while not making the car too expensive and a basic, utilitarian design. The xA's motor only needed more grunt, and you really can't have the car looking identical to its predecessor. You don't like it? Don't buy it. No one ever said you had to like it, and no one ever said you have to buy it.
