Default xD Payload!!!

Anyone have any idea what it is? I haven't been able to find it anywhere, and we don't have any xD's here yet. I read it should be 940lbs, which would be awesome.

The ~840lbs the xA has isn't cutting it for me. The times that I've used all 5 seats, the poor car bogs down like crazy. I typically have ~750lbs, and adding an uncalculated passenger throws everything off since none of my (adult) friends or family are under 90lbs

Ouch. 5 adults in the xA.

I'd strongly suggest looking at the xB2 with this kind of requirements.

comfort isnt the issue, just payload. if they want comfort w/ 5 adults, they can drive their own cars ;-) its all in-city, anyway.

id figure the new engine shouldnt have any trouble, just worried about the suspension. the official xD site doesn't list anything, either...

Reviving my dead post - is anyone willing to pop open their owners manuals? I really REALLY don't want a larger car, and seating 5 people in a 5-seater ocassionally shouldn't be as big of a deal as it is in the xA (I swear, the car felt like it was going to flip over itself off the highway).

Manual says total load capacity is 845lb.

My 'D does just fine loaded with 5 adults...it's more a matter of comfort. But, then again, if your passengers are after comfort then they need to buy their own dang Scion and stop bumming free rides lol.

Ugh I had my dad (probably.. 230 or so) and my bf (180ish, he's tall!) and my self (I ain't tellin my weight!) and boy was it hard to accelerate! Well I did have a computer in the back which was prolly 20lbs, but still. It was soo hard and annoying to accelerate that I'm never having big people like that again lol.

the acceleration, i dont care about.. but on that xa, man! the rear end was swinging left-right, bouncing up and down like mad.. it really couldn't handle 920 lbs. it was definately slow, but again that doesn't matter to me (understandable on these engines).

the xa is perfectly fine until you hit right over the payload limit, tho. i know some cars nowadays say much lower limits than they can handle. my 300 says it caps at 625, but ive had aroujnd 840 without any issues whatsoever. wonder if the xds can handle more than stated.

yeah, but what about their weight ;-) i have friends that are over 280lbs... 4 full sized adults and 1 "oversized" adult = torture on xA suspension, lol
