Default xD, uh, I mean Urban Cruiser on sale in UK

I read this article a while back and wanted to share it with any of you that may not have seen this. They plan on releasing the xD to the UK market beginning this spring 09.

Ok Don't kill the messenger, but the UK's xD is coming with a FOUR WHEEL DRIVE TRANSMISSION! Int'l Trannie swap anyone?

i thought it was funny that the article's author kept calling it a "small SUV". does anyone here consider the xD a "small SUV"? Nitpicky I know, but whatev.

I think that this means that the market is getting even BIGGER for our ride and that could mean more parts. Find some english tuner shops pronto!

if you take a look, our japanese counterpart (the iSt) also has a awd option...too bad the u.s. is obsessed with its fuel efficiency and refuses to bring over the awd/4wd options... :\

Unless you are modding the suspension, you ARE driving a mini-SUV.

The stock xD rides as high, and with a similar feel, as a stagecoach.

The reason I dropped the car was because I couldn't stand the SUV stance and handling. I am not surprised that they are taking the car this direction overseas.

I love the higher stance of the vehicle. To each their own, but I hardly consider the height a negative. But whatever.

Wow... that IS the IST. Same grill and fogs... Now I feel jipped! I'm willing to bet it will have the digital HVAC as well.

not to add insult to injury or anything but uh, i just took a closer look at the interior pic and i ALSO SEE....
-FRIGGIN PUSH BUTTON START
-and 6 FRIGGIN SPEEDS on the shifter!
no iPod hookup though whatev

BTW, is that little vent thing below the middle HVAC pod some kind of temp sensor?
Does anyone think we can swap these HVAC controls "simply", I know ANYthing is possible, but...?
this interior pwns, i'm shocked.

you know the iSt is exactly the same right?...just a steering wheel on the opposite side. lol..it is possible to get the HVAC for the xD, as long as you can wire it...it has its own wiring harness so if you know how to tap into the fuse box somehow..then..go at it! but..otherwise you'll have to take it somewhere to get it specially wired

the black plastic wrapping bumber on the front and rear adds to the rugged look.one of the main diff between the ist and xD..

i am driving the iSt and confused if i shud stay with the height or ride low...... i guess i enjoy the height for now...when i am bored with it i'll slam it down and make it look sportier..

toss in a sway bar as well if you can for the most noticeable improvement in handling...since we have none.

HOLY CRAP!!! It appears as though the UK xD will also feature a flux capacitor, a Mr. Coffee that converts natural foods to fuel, and time-travel!!!!

Seriously though, that look like an awesome xD.

In reference to comments above, I LOVE the higher stance of the xD!! IIt makes the car feel like more than it is, if that makes sense. I use to love driving my wife's 2001 Corolla, now I can't. I'm spoiled by the stance!!

Yes but how much are they going to be selling it for in Europe? I've been saying for a few years now that the US gets the short end of the stick with technology regarding cellphones, cars, etc.

Also, I want that blue color on that Urban Cruiser! I didn't mind the stock height actually. Being lowered is nice but the stock height is just as good
