2008 Scion xD Front Strut and Spring Assembly Replacement
I recently replaced both front strut and spring assemblies on this car. Should there be a gap at the top mount? There is a gap when the car is sitting on the ground and no gap when it is jacked up. I put things back together just as it was on the ones that I took off. Did I not tighten them enough?
Yeah, that's not right...I'd go back and make sure everything is installed correctly and tightened well. Leaving it like that is going to have those 'top hats' constantly banging during any suspension droop.
