no thats just their accusations in a more formal and professional standpoint. Have them record the a/f readings of your car vs a stock tC and then proceed with your warranty claim

speculated professionally sounded as if its proof. proof mean real evidence, which they obviously have none or they would have stated it clearly.

take your intake off, and go to another dealer? or is their computer system all tied together?
or take your car to a muffler shop, and tell them what happened, i replaced a cat on my 04"accord with a highflow, they did not care, they just wanted the business, the welded new flanges, and so it can be unbolted and swapped with my original if i decide to sell my car (150.00).

what you should have done is go to the a different auto shop and let them install it for you, then the auto shop will give you a warranty.... the people who installed the intake would repair whatevers broken

is this right??? or you gotta buy the part from them and let them install it for warranty???

ofcourse it would cause 800 dollars by the dealer... they usually think your stupid when it comes to cars... plus, its a "GENUINE TOYTA PRODUCT" they are going to put in, they will jack the price up....

a dent on your bumper costs 500 dollars to repair at the dealer! since the car is still new, they will replace the bumper for a new one aswell as repainting it (new bumper).

That is their opinion. They need test results to prove it. A/F ratio is this and should be this and this will cause this to happen. I agree with the guy that said put the stock intake on and take it to another dealer. Put it all back together as it should be not half assed though because if you do it wrong you can be responsible for that. Dont tell them you removed it and put on an aftermarket one either.

most people who go into do warranty work that i know of usually try to make the car as stock looking as possible, that way they cannot say "uh yeah that part caused the failure" that is like trying to say oversized rims and tires cause your tranny to fail........some dealers sell part, and will deny you repairs if it was not installed by them, also developing a relationship with a mechanic at the shop helps too, i only have ONE guy work on my cars, he knows me, he knows my cars, and i trust him.......service writers are actually encouraged to be able to write 2.5 hours of labor where ever they can, they make commission too, just like the salesmen......so also look behind the reason too.i have never in my life ever heard of a intake directly causing that type of damage, if it did, a drop in K&N filter would do the same......as well most of the intakes that are on the market.

i had the same code on my tc after I installed the megan header & K&N CAI.. i put on the spark plug anti-fouler's and reset the ECU a few times (disconnect the positive battery terminal for about 10 minutes) and no more CEL.. I've gone about 4,000 miles with no problems at all.. just take it back from the dealership and fix it yourself, it's not too hard at all.

i have to say that i am glad that my dealer treats me a lot better than how you are being treated. i think the only thing they woould not fix is my engine being hydrolocked if i am ever drunk enough to drive it into a lake... i have the k&n and i have gotten all my oil changes and a whole bunch of other lil things covered under warranty with no problem...10k miles and counting i still have my fingers crossed best of luck to you

$104 is stupid for a diagnostic check.. my dealer is $40 to diagnose the problem and that goes toward fixing it. ur intake would only cause a problem if one of the car's systems failed, it's not gonna provide enough air to put ur injectors at max duty cycle. if the computers didn't adapt, as they're supposed to, it's not ur problem. sounds like they're trying to screw u.. I'd keep pressing for proof, an actual a/f reading showing the car was way lean.

You're not going to burn up a cat by putting on an intake.

You would burn up valves and melt pistons LONG before you would melt a cat. Buy some o2 sims and be done for cheap.
