Default Putting a sub in an XB

Just wondering what would be the biggest box (cu ft wise) that would fit comfortably in the rear of an XB with the rear seats upright? I'm trying to find a single 12" that I could put back there. Thanks.

Matt

Dude, it depends on the subwoofer, not the car. Some subs are good for anywhere from like .6 cubic feet to 1.2 cubic feet. I would say that you could get a 12" with a 1 cubic foot box behind just part of the 60/40 seats, you just gotta build the box right.

Hold on a minute, dont go just yet. Your box choices are almost unlimited!!!!
most speaker manu. have pre built box that will fit very nicely in back and so does spfr. Alpine makes a box that is ported with a 10 or a 12, works really good, JL Audio has half a dozen boxez that will work or just find a shop with a good reputation and try one of thier custom boxes (ask to see photos any good shop will be more than glad to show u) their are other manufactures whom i have not listed that also make great sounding boxes . BUYING STEREO EQUIPMENT ON LINE IS DUMB SURE U CAN SAVE MONEY BUT THEY WILL TELL YOU WHAT EVERY U WANT TO HEAR.
You will lose out on the personal touch that a true car audio pro can give u. Plus you may not get what you think your getting. DAMN sorry i was ranting i hate on line car audio sellers the are ruining the personal touch that is truly needed in buying great sounding car audio. Back to your box questions go and try some in it if you dont have it yet i am sorry. But dont let us oldtimer scion owners discourage you about asking questions ok if you have any questions pm me please i have been doing car audio for almost 20 years later

My company is currently in the tooling process for developing a fiberglass stealth enclosure for the cargo area of the xB. We should have a few prototypes within the next week or two and begin production within the month. This enclosure will be VERY competively priced and overbuilt like all of our enclosures. If you all like, I will post pics when available.

Keep Jammin,

that statement is about the dumbest thing i have ever read its not the fault of the online sellers it the fault of the consumer that is misinformed and has no idea what they are buying...i've seen plenty of shops screw people out of money and set them up with a system thats was configured incorrectly...If your going to do car audio read as much as possible and figure how far you want to take it thats my best advice

i have bought all my items i run from a online seller just because it was cheaper and yes i did something lots of people dont do its called research!!!!

before you pop-off heres the link to my setup https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...402&highlight=

Default Online Retailers

The key to the stereo industry is finding a shop that can give you the best advice and honest, objective advice to help you with what you want to achieve. Sure, the shop I use may be a tad more expensive than the rest, but I trust them with my time and money. I've gone through a few different setups (on paper) as my needs have changed. My first setup was an entry level budget setup that was reccommended for clear sound at an affordable price. A few setups later, I'm running much higher-end equipment that gives me the clearest possible sound no matter what the volume is. Everything I didn't know how to hookup or fix myself, I ponied up and paid full retail for. I don't want to take a chance on some Ebay stuff or website's claim of "warranty services". The only stuff I ended up getting online were RCA's for my amp and monitor hookups, and things like battery terminals. My big money stuff like my headrest monitors and amps and subs and inverters and decks I got through my stereo shop, ensuring me that I would recieve customer service for life and the reassurance I'd recieve warranty service in the event my equipment breaks. I think it's the only way to go.

Sorry dude, but that personal touch is just the feeling of getting ripped off by installers charging too much money for too little effort. I buy online, and install myself so that I don't get ripped off like every other joe-blow down the street.

WELL IF PEOPLE GET RIPPED OFF BY INSTALLERS THAT IS THER FAULT
but before you lump all installers in that group u better check it out a little morre
most of us actual care about what we do because it is our own reputaion on the line.
And a the same time there are some shady shops out their mucking it up for us.
But if u reread my post you will see i said check out the shops first, most shops that
are good do more than one car for that owner and have a good rep in the area
all im saying is a great car audio shop is really the only way to go if you have any problems with your on line gear most of it has no manu. warranty.
