Default Split block?

I have a 2007 TC and I've been leaking oil for months/years but recently saw a fairly big spot under where the alternator sits. Looks like a seem so was wondering if the motor is a split block.. I'm not a mechanic but a friend of mine is and he said it look like it to him but he's never seen one.. he's old school so told me to ask

Under the alternator. I can't get a good pic

I'd clean the engine up and completely degrease it and then keep an eye on it going forward to see if you can spot the source of the leak...could be a valve cover gasket, and gravity is always going to pull things down, like under the alternator, or someone spilling oil during an oil change.

The odds of splitting a block on a stock motor are so ridiculously low that I wouldn't worry about that, especially where you are describing. You're seeing what I can only imagine is a 'seam' from where the block was cast and not a split block.

I have cleaned it multiple times.. I know where some jackass before me had put on a new timing chain they used to much sealer and it seems a tiny bit from there but I swear it looks like it's leaking where the block comes together. That's why my buddy had me see if the block was a 2 piece block because it looks like it's leaking from a seam right there.. it wouldn't suprise me with all the issues I've had with it

No changes.. I can only get help from time to time and that's rare so that's one reason I've started trying to learn on my own. I can't afford much either so it's kinda all a ____ show. I just burn oil and it leaks. I guess there was something wrong when they were built with the piston rings being to small and I'm pretty sure that's one of my many issues . I put 3 quarts of oil in last week plus it goes through gas like it's it's job lol.. it's in great shape overall it better be with all that's been replaced on it but the motor having issues is something I have zero experience with . That won't stop me from doing my best to fix it tho
