its for the towing eyelit. Check it out in your manual.

look in your trunk and under the spare tire is the hook that screws in there. Mostly for looks. J/K

We call that the J-hook, here's something neat to share and impress all your friends, as stated above yes it's for towing, but not really for here let me explain. You will see this square on other toyota's (echo,celica's,highlanders you name it) but not all other toyota's. You see this "J-hook" is only on toyota's produced in Japan. Toyota's made in America don't have the j-hook. Some toyota customers that know this won't buy a toyota unless it has a J in the first letter of the Vin or the J-hook cause they believe toyota's are made better in Japan. So if you see the j-hook you know you car came a long way just to see you :D oh yeah by the way same thing for lexus. later

Yes that is correct I guess I wasn't clear on that. The j-hook is for towing the car. American wreakers (tow trucks) aren't set up for the j-hook, like they are in Japan.

That's too small a place for weed. If you wanna be a big baller like myself, I have 2 spaces inside my system for ziploc bags, yup...the big ones, and they could hold almost a pound. It just sux having to fold the seat down everytime you wanna get at it.

I visited my old high school today, the one I got kicked out of for smoking 2 yrs ago, and I was offered by 5 different people to join them in a smoke out session. CRAZINESS

 

 

You can tow race cars...we took ours to the track and hooked up the tow hitch and pulled our frineds race cars to the line....it got so much attention it was great...
