I,m looking to lower my box and I was hoping for some help! Can anybody tell me what springs are the best for lowering an XB between 1" and 1.4" and still have a smooth ride? Any input would be great. Thnx....

 

I've been very happy with my Tein H-tech springs, which lower about 1.1 inches front, 1.2 in back, ride better than stock (until you hit the stops in a pothole), can go over railroad crossings at 40mph and don't have to go up driveways and across speed bumps sideways. The Teins are reported to ride better and are less expensive than the TRD springs which also give about a one inch drop.

I cart the wife and 84 year-old mother-in-law around and they don't complain
about the ride too much. Except for them, I may have gone with the Tein S-techs which are a 2 inch drop (but ride is not as smooth as the H's).

 

ok, now that the xB is off the list for knowing whats the best springs, what about the tC? im going to purchase some springs, but i need to know which are the best. any other tC owners like to help?

I know of a couple good springs for a xB. take a look at either Eibachs, goldlines, tanabe or possibly TRD (they will be overpriced from the dealership). Im pretty sure the best 1"-1.4" drop and still have a good ride would be from Eibachs. Im not sure what size drops they have. I use tanabe springs with a 2.4" drop and the ride is mostly smooth. Just browse around for a bit.

it just depends on what you are looking for... ride characteristics, drop, etc.
when i was looking i was worried about my warranty so i found some cheap trds and had a dealer install them, if youre not worried about that goldlines are a nice 2" drop with a smooth ride, hotchkis, tein, spy, rsr, tanabe, eibach... the list goes on. just do your homework and choose whats right for you

tanbe D210's lowered my xb a little over 2". rides a bit rougher than stock, but as i recall, the stock set up rode pretty rough as well. speed bumps and railroad tracks aren't too bad. looks bad ___.

 

Do I need shocks to work with the springs? What shock do you use for your Tein H-tech ?

 

yah i have a lava xB and i wanted to drop it... i caryy 18's and a low pro tire and the space between the wheel and well is killing me..... i live in Ct and i want to drop it as much as possible but dont want to bottom out, or scrap, or hit my front bumber goin up to the DD on the pike... any help is appreciated
