Default Tire size help (yup, I sure did search!)

OK, I'm one of the fortunate 10 people who were able to get in on the first batch of Nilo's fantabulous new wheels, bearing his namesake. Congrats to the man!

As you know from his thread, the wheels are 16x7 up front & 16x8 out back. The tires pictured on Nilo's car are 205-40-16 & 215-40-16. They fit the rim well, but look a bit "short" IMHO. And I'm kinda a fan of the stretchy-stretchy look. Sooo....

Could I get by with a 195-50-16 and 205-50-16? The numbers vs. the stock tire are pretty close as far as height and and circumference. And the ride quality HAS to be better than my 225-35-18's!

Thanks.

EDIT: One last lil side note, I'm on airride, so tucking is something I have to think about as well. That is all.

Actually, the 195/50-16 is just about exactly the same diameter as the stock 185/60-15, so that's a gimme. The 205/60 is obviously only slightly taller, and should also work fine (its actually slightly shorter than the JDM bB's 185/65-15). I run 205/55-15s front, and 205/60-15s rear - which are nearly identical to the sizes you listed - with no problems at all.
I haven't seen the Nilo car you mentioned, but you're probably right about the tires looking "too short", since they're nearly an inch and a quarter shorter than the stockers!

Yeah, I'm sure height-wise, the fit won't be a problem. Thanks!

But I'm more concerned with the width.
