my right side fender well fell off a long time ago and i never put it back on. now i finally took off the right one which exposes my CAI which i dont like. is anyone else running their car w/o fender wells. should i use silicone paint / coating on the insted of the fenderwell???

Probably not the best idea to run it without the splashshields because they are there to do exactly what the are called. It prevents mud, water, etc. from splashing in your inner fender and other areas where water shouldn't be going. Especially shouldn't if you are running an intake because it will suck up water.

 

i did have a cai but i sold it because i almost hydrolocked w/o those guards

 

i definatly agree. but... i did just get the TRD CAI with the BPV, does that help pervent water from comming up, that much...or is it not really functionable

 

^^ it helps but i dont think it works 100% especially that your splashguards are off..

 

I didn't have fenderwells for the longest, and honestly my engine stayed dirty, they are pretty cheap if you get them from sparks, can't remember exactly what I paid, but it wasn't that much.

 

i too have no splashguards. i have the trd CAI and i have had it in the rain w/o any problems. just for the winter tho, i made it short ram just incase.

 

and to add, I have hydrolocked previously.
