Default NEED TiRe HELP!!! 17" xB

I am looking for tires and was wondering if you could review the tire3s YOU are running right now on your xb. I need to know
rain traction,
snow traction,
dry,
miles on tires,
whethet mileage dropped,
road noise,
size,
flat spotting,
brand
model
price.

I am looking for Ultra High Performance All Season tires and want sme that not only will last, but will provide decent grip in snow, won't hydroplane, and will handle the road good in the curves.

I really can't remember WHAT size I am running...LOL. It is either 215/40 ZR17 or 205/45ZR17. I know for sure it is NOT 205/40-17. I am constantly writing it down, but I keep losing the paper I write it on and I can't seem to find my tirerack roadhazard paperwork. I will know for sure tomorrow and post my specific size.

I MAY just end up going with what I have, which is an Avon 'Tech M550' UHPAS (ultra high performance all season). They were like $92 each from tirerack. I have almost 50,000 miles on these tires and could have gone another 5,000-10,000 had I taken care of them. The rears have a ton more tread left than the front, but because of my failure to fix a slow leak sooner, the rears are scalloped and REALLY make the wheel shake when they are placed on the front. So, the fronts are almost bald and I can't rotate them with the rear.

Anyway, 50,000 miles isn't too bad for a Z rated tire, huh?

To all that posted. I thank you. I was hoping for more specific details, but at least you replied, and I appreciate it! Keep them coming, as I have yet to decide on buying the same tires I have or a different brand/set.

Take a look at the Falken ZE-912, the Kumho Ecsta ASX or AST at www.discounttiredirect.com for a couple of good all season tire choices.

I was going to suggest Michelin Exaltos PE 2 they are a little more expensive 134.99 at costco, but they quality is so much better and has a quiet ride.

^^^The Michelin Exalto PE2 is a ultra high performance SUMMER tire and I need an all season. The Pilot Exalto A/S looks to be a good tire, but it is just high performance A/S AND they don't make them in the size I need. good looking tire, though! Thank you!

Do you get snow in Louisiana? if not the wet traction on a summer tire is actually better then on a A/S. An All season has to satisfy many different situations, while a summer is just Dry and wet, so it excels in those 2 environments. I just got back from a tire seminar where they let us drive through the wet on a summer and then on a A/S and the summer handled the wet much better.

Well, I am not in Louisiana right now. I actually bought the car in Boston (winter) and are currently in the Bay Area (CA). We travel ALOT and we never know if our next destination is going to be in Maine in mid-winter or in sunny San Diego in mid-summer....Which is why i NEED an A/S tire.
We can't afford, nor have the room to carry winter/snow tires with us everywhere we go, so that is why we are looking for the best of both worlds, so to say.

Thank you to all that posted. I wish I could have got more info and such, but it's all good. I have decided on getting Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S. They seem to be a pretty good tire from what I can tell.
