Default My computer sucks!

Ok... A little backstory. I have an H-P laptop (dv2416us) that I bought in August of last year. On the evening of April 8, it stopped working, and I sent it to H-P for repairs. I just got it back today, and it still doesn't work. They had it for a month and a half, including two delays, and didn't fix the problem (which I believe was related to the motherboard as thats what was replaced according to the enclosed work order). Im getting to the end of my rope with this and wanted to throw some options out there for what to do next.

My options are:

One: Send it back and wait who knows how long this time.

Two: Have an independant computer tech look at it, at my cost.

Three: Send it back and demand a new one, or my money back.

Four: Use my extended service plan through Office Depot (where I bought the computer) and exchange it for a new one.

I went without internet (through my computer) for 2-3 weeks before finally borrowing a computer from a friend. I would prefer to not go through that again. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

i vote for option 2 that way you can harass them to find out wtf is wrong with it...

or option 5 is to build your own computer which you can do it on the cheap

^ Just that, it stopped processing, and had no video on the monitor. When I tried to restart it, the lights would come on, but nothing else happened.

I need a notebook as I am limited on space, and want something portable. Combined with my general lack of knowledge regarding computers limits me to buying a notebook.

A quick update, I decided to send it back to them, and if they dont get it right this time I will get a new one on the next tax-free weekend (July 31-August 3). I figured with the cost of shipping, which they are paying for, they don't want to screw up again. I will let you know what happens.

I was going to say go for option 5. Tell us exactly what is wrong and we'll help troubleshoot it for you for free. So at least you can narrow it down for the tards at HP and at best fix it. From what little you've mentioned of it so far it sounds like the monitor is the problem. But if you can elaborate further I can help you out more.
