Default my review of the NEW new Easy street struts

ok so I finally got the new new struts in last week, put them on, and the pass side has a leak in it around the top clamp. Email sent and new set on sent out.

well I got them put on again today, and I will say this. The ride is MUCH better, I push "down" and the front actually goes down. they do go up higher, and I could care less about that, cause they don't go as low anymore.

the bottom hole on them is now slotted like most have done to the old ones to fix the positive camber issue, BUT now the top hole is not. SO, still has positive camber probs, so I guess I will have to slot the top hole to get the adjustment that they need.

The top bolts are a joke, I feel they really cheeped out on them by not having them on the strut already. So if you have fat hands like me, good luck reaching up in there to fish the bolt threw from the bottom.

Over all I am happy with them, solely based on the ride and non sticking improvement. Could they be better? yes. are they better then the old ones? yes.

so there is my 2 cents of a review on them.

Going to help install a set of new NEW struts sometime this week on a friends xB and I think we will check the bags for leaks first and then have the bolts tack welded onto the strut to make it easier to pull off and on if needed.

sure, no prob.
might as well slot the top bolt hole as well, to fix the poss camber prob that they still have.
the bottom hole is slotted now, but the top is not for some reason.

So basically its all new strut to fix the noise issue, that doesn't appear to have hurt anything, but they ignored the tire chewing camber issues?

yep that about sums it up. they ride WAY better and make no noise, but did not fix the other major prob of the camber.

Not yet. They told me it would be 2 weeks or so about 3 weeks ago.....hmmmm...I guess another phone cal may be needed

I still have not heard why they stopped slotting both holes like I had convinced them to????

Yep...going to slot both holes so that the camber issue doesn't raise its ugly head...

I gues I'm one of the few that have not had problems with the first generation of ES struts, other than the noise and that only happens every now and then. Not very keen on starting over with these new ones...we will see how it goes on my friends xB this weekend!

Is it possible to widen the bottom slot and keep the top hole round so the strut will pivot more?

Just got my ES struts in....WOW....MUUUCH better than the old ones...after the alignment (where i got THEM to set the camber at -1) i have NO issues!! The ride is GREAT, !!! Took a couple off ramps kinda fast today, handled like a champ also, no problems tucking when laid completly out...Just want to thank Jeremy @ Easystreet for the help...and for anyone getting or looking at getting bags...they are deff. the way to go....

Just some info for those that need it...when you go to get an alignment, let them know you want it cambered in, because when you go and tell them "i want an alignment" they are gonna set it a factory spec and within guidelines. Most shops will do it but won't give you a warranty....but if you got bags, it's obvious that you really don't give a rat's a$$ about a warranty.......

So were you able to acheive your specs w/o cam bolts? Or, did they install those when you had your alignment done?

stock bolts.....since i have gutted the inner fender i can lay out and still drive forward and backwards....only if i drive over anything will the p/s pulley rub the axle....

I think your the first person to say they got something else besides positivie camber w/o messing with the strut. Were your top and bottom holes slotted?

just the bottom....i'm running 17x7.5 205/40/17 tucks just fine...in the back all i did was cut the stock bumpstops on the shocks....the s=new stuts ane unreal though...on stting 3 they ride 100 times better than stock....but you also have to remember that all the xB's strut mounts are not symetrical each xb's mounts are diff in some lil way...so you can't expect a perfect fit on EVERY car...i'm thinking about going with randode's top bracket to get a lil lower....
