Power Windows motor defected in the cold weather??
so yea, i started my car in the afternoon, and it was really cold today (20 degrees w/ windchills of -2). after i warmed up my car, i tried to roll down the windows, but it didnt work. at first, i thought the cold weather would freeze my power windows motor for a little bit. but after while, i tried to roll it down, and it didnt work at all. so, do you think i need a new power windows motor??
well I would try the window reset that is done when you disconnect the battery (its in your owners manual or you can search it out on the forum), maybe something happened and caused the ECU to reset.
I don't think any or enough moisture can get to where the power window motor actually is at to freeze.

well if the reset doesn't work then take off the door panels and see if any water is in there or if anything is frozen. Hopefully if water got in there it didn't mess up the motor. Check the fuse for it as well before and/or after taking off the panel. Wanna make sure you cover all the possibilities before ripping out the motor and spending the $$ on getting a new one.
you kinda hinted to a resolution, try warming the door panel and see if it works if not reset it and try again. our windows are smarter than us lol when u tried to take it down it may have tripped kinda like our wipers due when they hit something if you dont know what im talking about its in the owners manual good luck!!! post up the results
so if u washed ur car recently or whatnot ive found in the colder weather when it gets low it shakes and moves but i let it dry idk how lol its 13 degrees here BUT it did alarm me...once i put it in my temperate control garage it worked and it was fine so that might be a prob
When I used to live in MA my windows would freeze too, and if I really needed to get it down I just held the button while pusing downward on the window with the other hand, using my palm, if you know what i'm trying to say.
This was with a ford, so our cars should take it much better
